Finally got the radiator fan off with this tool when nothing else worked. C-clamps, wire, all failed and this finally came through

This is a versatile and well built tool that helped me rebuild the power trim on my Evinrude outboard motor. The motor manufacturer wanted $65 for a special tool and I was able to buy this for about $45 and can use it on multiple applications, not just my boat. I would make a small modification on the inside of the jaws near the end so the you can use it to work around smaller shafts or pistons on hydraulic cylinders. It worked for me but was a tight fit. If the cylinder shaft I was working on was any smaller it would not have worked.

I'm the reviewer of the household and NOT the user of this product, but I'll attempt to describe why we find it perfect. My husband has a nearly 40 year old Teramite backhoe/tractor thing that the hydraulics finally started to go bad on. He's very mechanically inclined and rarely runs in to a fix-it or repair that he doesn't already have the right tools for. But he needed a tool with which he could access the o-rings and seals and so forth for his tractor. After a couple of orders for products that weren't right (our mistakes) we got this and it was perfect. The span of the wrench, the different sizes of the pins and the fact that the pins are at a 90 degree angle to (rather than aligned with) the arms that open and shut allowed him to find the perfect fit and get to the parts of the tractor that needed to be replaced. The do-it-himself job turned out to be a MUCH less expensive option than the $150 per piston quotes he received from local hydraulics repair shops.

Nice design in an adequate case. Tools fit as described. Composition of the pins that engage into the spanner nut being removed by the tool is at best inadequate in hardness. The metal used to fabricate the tool is not hardened resulting in deformation under light to moderate loads. The tool warps easily allowing the pins to disengage damaging the spanner nut.

This was perfect to remove water pump pully on my Durango. Without it, the fan could not be removed.

I used this wrench to repair my Kubota front end loader hydraulic cylinders. It worked perfectly and had the correct size tips.
