Handy Addition to My Yale Alarm System
Packaging:The fob arrived quickly, was very well packaged, and appeared to be a genuine Yale product right out of the box.Design:Compact and practical keyfob that fits easily on a keyring; looks and feels like a genuine Yale accessory. It features a lock button intended to prevent accidental activation or deactivation of the alarm, but I’ve found this lock button itself is quite easy to trigger accidentally, especially when the fob is in a pocket or bag.Functionality:Works well for arming and disarming the alarm, with an impressive range (easily over 100m, not tested at full 200m). Occasionally requires a double-click to lock or unlock, but otherwise reliable. If you forget to use the lock button, or if it gets pressed by mistake, it’s possible to trigger the alarm or disarm it unintentionally.Set Up:Very easy to set up-just a few clicks in the Yale Home app and it was ready to use within minutes. Straightforward instructions and quick pairing.Overall:A genuine, easy-to-use accessory that adds a lot of convenience to the Yale Sync alarm system. The lock button is a useful feature, but because it’s easy to trigger, you need to be mindful of accidental presses. Minor issue with needing to double-click sometimes, but not a dealbreaker. Highly recommended for Yale Sync users.

perfect
You can't go wrong with Yale quality but the design is not the best with the raised set button

Works well but not perfect
Overall I am happy with this fob. Our keypad is by the front door so this enables me to easily set the alarm when leaving the house via the back door to walk the dog. It is also light although a touch more bulky than I anticipated, just about comfortable for going in a pocket but you certainly want it to be any bigger. As others have commented, the button design is not ideal. It isn't that easy to see the markings and the arm button is raised and fairly sensitive. In the first couple of days I managed to start arming the alarm just by sitting down with it in my pocket or when grabbing my keys from the table. You can overcome this by using the lock button which I now leave on as a matter of course but that does make the whole process slightly more fiddly. It came in the locked position so remember to unlock it before trying to pair with your hub (Yale instructions are pretty useless).

Simple device which does what it’s supposed to.

Difficult to use as cannot see the icons and switch fiddly. Also batteries were dead!
Purchased 3 of these as loved the fact they could be used as panic buttons as well as arming/disarming the alarm but I was very disappointed when they arrived.Firstly the batteries were dead so I had to go out and purchase new ones before I could even start using them. Secondly, the instructions were poor, I did not know how to activate the panic button feature (press the unlock and part lock button simultaneously). In all fairness Yale support were great and pointed me in the right direction regarding this feature. The device is all one colour (black). It was difficult for me to see which button to use to unlock it so I had to put a blob of white nail varnish on that side so I could easily distinguish it from the part arm. There is a slider switch to turn the device on and off. Again, it is completely black. It would have been useful for the inside of the button to be another colour i.e. white so you could easily see that the button was switched to the 'on' position and you don't accidentally leave it on and drain the battery (I have done this twice already!).I like that I can arm/disarm from up to 200 meters (tried it from 100 meters and it works) as I can't always connect to my home wifi from outside of my house to turn the alarm off via the app on my phone which is a pain but this device solves that. Just a shame that it is all one colour and the icons aren't prominent.I also purchased 2 panic buttons to put around the house and use velcro to move them to different places. I love these and will review them separately.

Very poorly designed both electronically and mechanically
I am on my third fob from Yale, under warranty, still they don't work 100% of the time.1: you can't see any of the graphics on the rubber membrane to easily identify Arm, Disarm or Part Arm2: operation very flakes, if and when it is working you press a button and you get a blue flash of light followed by a greenone. I have worked out ( not documented anywhere or even anyone from Yale Tech can tell me how the fob is meant tooperate) that this green flash is acknowledgement that the operation is accepted by the control box. No one can confirmthis from Yale no matter how many times I ring them.3: most of the time you turn the fob on and press the Arm button (we'll within range ) and the fob just sits there flashingblue till it gives up and goes off, not having actually set the alarm. You press it a second time and the setting beeps fromthe box start, followed by the set "chirp" from the bell box. Sometimes you might get a green light but mostly stays blueand goes out. The thing is you don't move or change anything and the fob carries on functioning, until you return and tryto unset the alarm and the fob won't do anything even unlocked then all of a sudden turned off and back on and it works.4: some of the door/window contacts seem to eat batteries, I have one on my shed door I'm always changing the 2032battery it keeps flagging up battery is low. It hardly ever gets opened, new batteries, different brands, nothing makes any difference. But the fob seems to eat batteries whether you turn it off or not . Very poor design and very poor backup when the "Tech" don't even know how it is supposed to operate. If Yale ever read this and know any different then leave a comment and I will get in touch but some how I doubt it.difference.

Key fob works perfectly
The key fob works perfectly. The only issue I had was pairing the fob with the alarm system as the instructions supplied with the alarm system did not quite match up with the alarm system screen text when going through the pairing process.
