Amazing fertilizer packed in a small tab! But…Algae outbreak…?
Yes! This tabs are amazing! I am new to aquascaping so i waited about 3 months before i wrote my review to see any changes in my tank. But yes this product is amazing. My plants i own in this 20 gallon tank goes as follows:-water wisteria-java fern-anubias nana-cryptocoryne (and the flamingo variant)Now when first buying these tabs i was very skeptical. I was honestly considering buying flourish tabs by seachem. Boy im happy i didnt. These tabs are a god send.My crypts went from closed to fully blossomed mature plants. Propagating while still growing. My java fern quickly started propagating as well sending out shoots. All my plants were loving the combo of liquid CO2 for their stems and root tabs for their roots. Now theres the ugly….these root tabs will cause an algae disaster if not watched properly.During my first 3 months of use the algae in my tank got brown and BAD. The root tabs increase the phosphate in the tank which leads to the brown reddish mess.I made the choice to buy 4 nerite snails who quickly took care of the job but…not on my plants….as you can see from the pictures the algae is stuck in my plants. Attempting to wash it off doesnt help as its like embedded in the leaf it self. My snails are too fat to climb my plants:( and im considering buying some oto’s for my tank. But other than that these root tabs are amazing months of slow growing compiled into a few weeks of growth. While also providing an algae buffet or a pest to you (at least in my experience)

A must for rooted plants
I can definitely tell the difference with these tabs in the substrate and without. They really promote healthy and vibrant growth. The best part is that they completely dissolve over time with no need to try and search for remains in order to replace with a new one like some of the other firms make. Definitely recommend this product.

Sinking, non-slippery, stable, results
These are fantastic, compressed, porous fingernail sized cubes. Easily managed during planting, and they do not float. No NO2/NO3 spike (4 cubes/20gal). My dormant dwarf sagittarius began to grow after three ddays. Will buy again

Good but not for long.
While I can say that these tabs do feed the plants well and the plants grow and color up nicely, the tabs have a short feed period. They dissolve very quickly leaving the plants with no root feeding source. I have a grow-out tank and place plants in pots with tabs in each pot. After two months, the plants start to fade quickly. When I pulled the pots out of the tank there was not any evidence of a tab left. Additionally, if the tab is placed too close to the roots of the plant, it will burn the roots and kill the plant (since it dissolves too quickly). The description on the package stated that the tabs need to be replaced every three to four months. In my planted aquarium, after less than two months, I observed the same growth spurt and then die-back as I experienced in the grow-out tank. I also fertilize in the water column Thrive plus other fertilizer salts

Messy
The reason I gave it a 4 star, is I've had other root tabs you simply place into the soil/substrate, and it slowly dissolves, without being messy. These are EXTREMELY messy! While I'm cleaning my fish tank; moving things around all the particles from the root tabs disperse everywhere. And if you have light color substrate like I do, it turns a darker color. Wish I would have thought about that prior to using. Also, one last remark... as soon as they get wet, they start dissolving. So all my surface materials, e.g., plants, rocks, wood, are getting this substance all over them.
