Get this if you have a youngster wanting to be an Engineer!

This is the absolute worse book on civil engineering. There are no equations and math in this book there is no science. It seems like someone asked AI to write a book for them and is trying to pawn this off as theirs. It is absolute garbage. Avoid at all costs!

This book is OK but unfortunately it's a lot more simplistic than I was hoping for. The digital sample only shows a section of the first chapter which is Introduction to Civil Engineering. So, based on the title which includes the phrases "Step by Step" and "Mastering the Fundamentals" I assumed it would go into significantly more detail in the later chapters. It sounded like there would actually be some step by step application of the principles. But it's mostly just basic concepts and definitions. I included photos of two of the more detailed pages I could find, which actually do include some formulas. Still, there's no real practical information on how to apply them though.I think I'll still get some value out of this book. It will serve as a basic overview of concepts that I can explore further on my own. I would only recommend this for someone who's looking for a quick and dirty primer on basic civil engineering concepts - not someone who's interested in learning how to actually do some basic civil engineering calculations for design work.
