Fantastic for seeing at night! However even the lowest light setting can still be kind of bright at night, good for a night light though! Ive bought two, my parents love theirs also! The settings buttons are on the back with the screen on the front, not a fan of that one. Maybe the buttons on the side are a better option. My parents had a hard time figuring it out and landed on the wrong language, so I had to figure it out for them.

The instructions were clear. But doing the first one (sliding out the battery holder) was nearly impossible. I did wonder how many of us old people ended up in the emergency room because of a knife slipping. Or am I the only one who tries a knife in frustration at battery slots? TV remotes are just as bad. As it turned out, the mere act of pulling out the plastic insulation slip had set up the enclosed battery perfectly. I was stymied for a few minute because, after setting the time and date, the day of the week was nowhere to be found, but I discovered it came up automatically when I was finished. I then unplugged it from the outlet in the kitchen where I had been because the light was better and plugged it into a bedroom socket. I am pleased to report the battery backup worked.Today is the last day of standard time. I will be able to check tomorrow and report on whether or not the change to standard is automatic.Checked to see if it moved to Daylight Savings Time automatically. It did not, but it is very easy to set so no worries. I also learned that it could do without power all night and keep its settings, although I wouldn't want to do that too often or I might need a new batteryThe light is dimmable. It is bright enough to serve as a nightlight set at 5. Since it is in our bedroom, I have set it to 1 which is plenty light enough to see.I have not tried any of the reminder settings.

This clock looks & works great, is affordable and it has been very helpful with dementia confusion. It's become a "reality anchor" and prevents repeated questions about time or day of week and eliminates arguing about the information being correct. Very affordable and easy to setup. It has a ton of functions we don't utilize, but it's been so helpful that we've bought another to keep in the living room!

Large numbers and bright enough for nightlight use. Mom always knows the date, day of the week and time. She loves it. Also the backupBattery feature is a plus.Display size and readability are excellent!!

No dementia in our house, but we definitely appreciate a big-face clock which includes dates as well as time.Setting it up (and changing choices) is not simple, so be sure that you have the latest version of their manual. Every choice involves multiple button pushes in the proper order.When I could not figure out how to cancel alarms (which were present when we purchased the clock), I felt very frustrated. However, the item has the customer-support email address on the back. I sent a query and customer support (in China) answered within 48 hours, including the news that they were attaching the latest version of the manual (20250122). Our clock had a 2024 manual which did not address the problem we needed to solve.With newer documentation and step-by-step instructions in the email answer, we solved the problem. For such a low priced item, I am surprised at the rapid and appropriate customer support.I would buy it again -- no dementia diagnosis needed.

Purchased for mother in law with dementia. This really helps having this info right for her read. Bought this one for living room and another for her bedroom. She can now keep her dates correct

Easy to set up and very helpful for the family. Different back ground colors and brightness. It has alarms that can be set up as a one time or repeat.

I didn’t expect it to keep auto time and even change itself during daylight savings, that was a nice surprise that it keeps itself accurate.I expected some cheapie flimsy clock for this price but it’s very nicely made.Happy it was so affordable because its value is worth it.
