Removed rusty stains from sandstone paving.
It actually works. I was a bit reluctant, but dince I couldn’t find anything else, decided to give it a try. Very good result, product removed rusty stains of the sandstone left by scrap of metal. Worth every penny in my opinion.

Absolutely exceeded expectations!!
I bought this product having already resigned myself to the fact, that like all the previous products I had tried, there was no hope and my patio would forever be covered in brown and orange rust stains.Boy was I mistaken!! This stuff is amazing and has completely removed stains I have spent three years trying to get rid of.I cannot recommend it highly enough.

May not be correct product for porcelain tiles and granite worktops?
I bought this product to treat rust stains on a white porcelain tiled floor, caused by a chrome table base and bar stools. It was a very bad stain. The product took off most of the lesser areas, but the really stubborn stain has not fully came off. I may need to use it more times. I tried it also on a white/grey granite composite worktop with rust stains. Again, it took some of the stain off but not fully. I used bleach on the worktop and got it more or less completely off. Maybe repeated uses of the product would work. Beware that when acting on the stain, it is a very strong smell and does turn purple.

removing rust ? then don't waste your money
I purchased this to remove some small rust stains on a newly laid patio caused by the overspill of using evergreen lawn feed on the adjacent lawn. (it has an iron compound in it to kill the moss). Whilst it does turn the rust marks purple when you put it on when you wash it off the rust stains are still there. So it is USELESS. However, I did find a product called Owatrol Net-Trol Wood Cleaner on the internet which they said removes rust stains.... it is brilliant I can't recommend it highly enough. It even removed some deep rust stains caused by other things. Don't worry that it says wood cleaner as it works on rust

Worked well on unsealed limestone
Worked fine on our unsealed limestone patio. Bad stains required several applications but it's very economical in use. Apply lightly over stain and leave no longer than 10 minutes. Flush off with plenty of water to avoid purple staining. Best not to use when hot sun on slabs. It would have been five stars but for the cap - I needed to use a mole wrench to squeeze it sufficiently to undo.

... grey Indian limestone slabs and bought this with no great expectations after seeing mixed reviews
I had several rust marks on my grey Indian limestone slabs and bought this with no great expectations after seeing mixed reviews. I thought it worth the risk to avoid replacing 5 stones. It worked like magic! I followed the instructions to the letter using a soft 1/2” paint brush to spread the liquid and washing it off promptly before it dried. In my case, after about 5 minutes on each area. It took between 4 and 5 applications although you could see it working well after just the first application. Just wash off, wait for it to dry, the reapply. The liquid does turn a blackberry purple as it reacts with the rust, but it washed off with a water soaked rag. Brilliant results with only two little spots of about 1mm that refused to go. My one disappointment is the cost and size of the bottle. It took very little liquid to complete the job and I estimate bottles of 100ml would take care of most issues. Ok, I can keep this in case it happens again, but Lithofin state this has a limited shelf life and we will be much more diligent in future with metal items as we now we know that it causes rust stains! So, come on Lithofin, smaller, less expensive bottles!PS. I wonder if the failures were on concrete slabs. I tried this on a concrete slab we have with a rust mark and it wasn’t as effective. Also you have to be quicker washing it off as the purple staining took some effort to remove on concrete whereas it took little effort on stone. I’ll try again on the concrete slab.

Astonishingly effective and a lifesaver!
After a plumbing leak on the floor above, our beautiful limestone floor was orange with rust stains. I researched possible solutions and decided that, mostly because it was much cheaper than poultice and similar treatments, it was worth giving this Lithofin product a try. Every other Lithofin product I’ve used over the years has been good, so it seemed a good first option.I was convinced that even if I got somewhere with the stone, I’d inevitably have to rake out the deeply stained grout.Amazing! This removed all the stains, including in the grout, some areas being so stained that several applications were needed.I was a bit concerned about the instructions which said there would be purple stains which “disappeared over time “, but in reality that meant an hour or so, not ages and ages.Don’t hesitate. Buy it!
