Jaguars (Animals That Live in the Rain Forest) Paperback – Picture Book, January 16, 2009

Great facts about jaguars! I bought this book to donate to a local library's Christmas book giving program. Age appropriate, good reading level for elementary school kids. Our local bookstores did not have any books about the BIG cats.

These are beautifully photographed and accurately translated, which is a significant issue with many bilingual readers.

This book features some very good, up close photography of jaguars. My toddler was captivated. Most of what she sees is cartoonish illustrations. I was happy to introduce her to some nonfiction. You may end up glossing over the concepts of "prey" and 'endangered animals' if your child is as young as mine (2), but the book is entirely appropriate for its intended audience.
