i have a double gate and the outside keypad for people with a code to enter stopped working. i decided i wanted something more modern that i could control via wifi. found this product and decided to give it a try even though my gate maintenance person wanted no part of helping because they're not that technical. i was willing to give it a try though.figured out i had 12AC coming to the post from the gate opener circuit board, but needed 12DC! was able to replace the transformer inside the gate opener housing for the one that came with this opener to get the required 12DC to the post and it worked!next up was figuring out how to use the wiring coming from the gate opener to the post to have this new box open the gate on command, and ideally, hold it open when needed if several people were coming over at different times. i determined the two wires that when shorted opened the gate. i ended up calling this product's company and asking for advice on connecting it. they provided the perfect information and i hooked it up, and it worked! the box connected via wifi to the house.mounting it to the existing post was a pain though, and i didn't do the prettiest job as you can see in the pic! also, the wifi antenna - wasn't sure quite what to do with it, so it sticks out the back horizontally. could be worse, but there it is.the doordeer app took a bit to figure out (and i'm in IT), but one thing i wanted to do was just command it to keep the gate open until i say close it. turns out, as far as i can tell, you can't do that. what you can do though is set a time intervall to hold the gate open. setting the time/day is tedious and more designed if you say wanted the gate open every day during certain house.anyway, great product, great value. the video camera quality is great too, and i like that the keypad is lit up at night.

Spent a while researching a gate controller that could replace a cellgate keypad control and this is by far superior to the cellgate device. One of the least expensive solutions that actually works. If you're in BFE, you're probably stuck with a cell service device. If you're just out of wifi range, this is the solution. Do Not get a P2P wifi bridge (too much bullshit setting it up and then you still have to run a network cable to the box). Instead, simply use a wifi access point. Horrible item and customer service avoid this scam! Color doesnt even match box display and customer service is bad item defective

We have found that the App is probably the weakest link to this system, the unit itself works as a basic intercom and video keypad. Unfortunately, there are aspects of the system that were unclear, we purchased off of Amazon and have found that the description on the Amazon purchase page was misleading, the top half of the description states one thing and the lower half states another. READ THE FINE PRINT!!!!!! After 120 days the functionality of the app becomes very basic. You lose the ability to give out a second or additional guest pin codes, you lose scheduling and the ability to keep an event log. You have to pay a premium of $30.00 a year for those features. In addition there is no manual, if you click on the app for the manual it takes you nowhere. Customer support said there is no manual it is self explanatory. Overall the app is glitchy and the motion alerts can be delayed. If you don't mind paying extra for what should be basic features and features that were not clearly stated then this will open and close your gate or door adequately.

I'm using two of those Key Pads for both my Front and Back Gate.It's a solid build and works great! I love that I can open the Gate via code or app, give out temporary codes and easily share the device with others to control.The app is very simple to use and so far is pretty solid, maybe a view setting possibilities that I'm missing.The wifi antenna is not great! Even having a pretty good wifi reception from the house, the connection is rather weak. Hard wire works great and solid, otherwise you have to get a Wireless Access Point.Over all a great device!

I replaced a 22-year-old gate keypad with this one in order to gain some features such as two-way communication, video, hold open, etc.Looks so much better and works perfectly! I called tech-support for one item and they picked up on a Sunday afternoon (over a holiday weekend) which was super impressive and they were incredibly helpful and informative!!!

I tried other brands and this unit by far worked the best.Hardwire install is the best way to get great results.The product works as described.
