Mind Mapping: Improve Memory, Concentration, Communication, Organization, Creativity, and Time Management (Mental Performance)

From a teacher
I picked it up mind mapping hoping to find a better way to help students organize information. What I found was a method that matched how many of them already think nonlinear, visual and layered. Mr Knight's book has helped me introduced the technique across grade levels and subjects and once my students gave it a try, they found it easier to make connections and recall the lectures, giving them a structure that feels right for them. What I do is have them share their mind maps to the class so they can learn from the creativity and organization of each other. Sometimes we'll build a large map from each student's individual maps as Kam describes in the chapter on group mind mapping. I've seen quieter students use mind maps to express the complex thoughts in their heads and more visual learners find their footing in subjects where they'd usually fall behind. This encouraged me to rethink how I present material and with Kam's guidance on presenting with mind maps I'm focused less on slides and more through mapped discussions or open-ended thinking webs.

best book on mind mapping
i love mind mapping been using it for years. I heard Kam on a podcast talking about it and was so impressed with his talk I bought his book. Having read so many books about mind mapping without doubt this is the best written on the topic. Most books didn't even have images which makes no sense as mind maps are visual so you have to see them to know how to make them. The ones that do have images either just use stock photos, are amateur quality or they're only a few of them. Kam includes so many images this was the first time I saw the full power what mind mapping could do and the explanations were good too. Most things I've heard about mind maps is you can use it for this or that but never shown how. Kam includes step by step wlak through with real life examples you will encounter. The chapters on the other mapping systems like flow charts, concept, and cognitive maps were eye opening. Good writing, good illustrations, good examples.

AI took my job
I needed to learn new skills. Learning wasn't easy like when I was young. It wasn't easy then either. But it became more important now. Thank goodness someone passed a long this book. Developing human-centric thinking tools like mind mapping has never been so important. In a world driven more and more by AI we need to double down on uniquely human skills that machines can't replicate: creativity, holistic thinking, problem solving. This book fosters all this. Some of the uses go overboard but overall I'm glad to come across it. It's better to learn now than when it's too late.

A mother's guide to clarity
As a mother juggling the roles of parent, teacher, planner, and occasional crisis manager, I am always looking for tools to bring order to the chaos. Kam Knight's Mind Mapping came into my life at just the right time-and I can honestly say it has transformed how I manage my family's busy life and how I support my children's learning.Mind mapping as Kam presents it goes beyond note-taking technique but a way of thinking that encourages clarity, creativity, and connection. I initially picked it up to help my 10-year-old son who was struggling to organize his school projects. But as I read through the chapters, I began using mind maps to meal plan, schedule weekly activities, and even talk through big feelings with my 7-year-old daughter. It felt so empowering not only for me but for my kids. They started creating their own mind maps to study, brainstorm birthday party ideas, and manage chores. It turned into a family habit that helps us communicate better and stay on the same page.

Get the Kindle version!
This book is too small and the illustrations are black and white, not in color as advertised. The ink used is also too light for me. That said, the content is useful, so go with the Kindle version. All the diagrams are in color, the links to the website are right on the page, and best of all, you can make the print bigger.

This book changes how you think and brings joy in responsiblity
Look, I am not the type to leave reviews. When I do, I am very satisfied. As I write, I am happy. Why? Well, after a quick book overview I decided to try it out with a to-do list. During the process I felt joy, happiness and was able to create a to-do lists as a simple map (symbols, pics, etc.) It’s like you’re brained being wired to be a child again, of course be a responsible one! Anyway, this book definitely will help organize abstract thoughts, accumulated info and so on. Best part about this book is it has a section on how to teach children that’s under 18 (toddlers to adolescents). I thought this was great!

Don’t wait.
Why didn’t someone tell me about mind maps sooner! This woulda saved so much time and headache not just in school but at work and life. I feel like my life could be so much different had someone taken the time to teach me this earlier in life. Don’t wait or make excuses and learn this technique now!
