Basic and lightweight
Not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn’t this. The product is lightweight because it is paper covered cardboard held together with dowels and 2 sided tape. So far, it is serving the purpose I intended. I use it to house my cats food. The half wall keeps our large dog out of the food. The cats seem to like it and just needed to be shown 1 time where the food is located. I’m glad I purchased a separate cabinet to house the litter box as I’m not sure how well this cabinet would hold up to any type of moisture. I keep the water on the floor outside of the cabinet. I had one issue during assembly when I put one side panel on upside down. The panels only fit together one way so I would recommend test fitting before removing the paper strip from the tape. Total assembly time was 20 minutes max, including remedying my mistake. I think I like this product but will hold off on final judgment until we have used it for awhile.UPDATE: I initially rated this cabinet 4 stars but have since changed it to 5 stars. I am going on almost 6 years of use and, not only does this cabinet hold up, it still looks great. There is some slight yellowing to it but, its home is in my sunroom so it is exposed to A LOT of sunlight. I have since moved my cat’s water fountain inside the cabinet as well as her automatic feeder and have had no issues at all with water damage. Spills are easily cleaned up if done quickly. I never thought that a paper product would last so long but it does and my cat and I are still quite happy with it!

Not Cat Friendly
First and foremost, this item did two things as it promised: it was lightweight, and it was easy to assemble -- easy in that the pieces fit together in a simple manner, even if they didn't stay that way and required liberal use of Gorilla Glue to keep the wooden pegs holding it together in place. The lightweight feature seemed great, until the item was put into use. It is made from "paperboard" -- literally just thickly layered paper. Do you see why this is a problem? I wish I had realized it before I purchased.Cats may be meticulous when it comes to their personal grooming, but when it comes to litter and litter boxes, they are disgusting. They kick and scratch at the litter and they have poor aim, urinating and defecating on the sides of the box, or, more often OVER the sides of the box. Any guess what happened? The first time one of my cats aimed poorly, the "paperboard" began to buckle and warp. It stunk -- I could get the surface clean but the waste was soaked in and the smell would not go. It was impossible to keep clean inside. The doors soon fell off from the bottom board becoming warped, exposing the messy interior. Eventually I just broke it down (VERY easy) and dragged it out for the trash. A waste of time and money! Even better -- it left a dirty mark on my tile floor where it had been that is refusing to come up!I guess it was optimistic of me to assume that someone marketing a litter box enclosure literally made of paper would have put some sort of seal on the boards that would make it easy to wipe down and stop waste from literally soaking into it. I was fooled by the five star ratings -- I'd wager these people wrote them before putting the piece into regular use!Waste of time, waste of money, hazardous and just disgusting. Save yourself the aggravation, don't buy it.

I really really liked it..
The media could not be loaded. Despite all the bad reviews (which I didn’t read before purchasing) it’s a good product and works for ME and my RABBIT. Yes I use this for my rabbit and not my cat. She is a free roamed rabbit and lives in my bedroom. I was sick of having her litter box out in the open for people to see. This is so lovely to have in my room and I don’t have a lot of space either. The Assembly was super quick and instructions were very easy for me to understand. As far as cleaning goes, I only have to pick up hay and stray rabbit droppings (which stay inside the litter box enclosure because the z board catches it). Honestly though, I really like this product and have had a great experience. For the people who say their cat pee ruined it, just know your pet and what their bathroom habits are. I use a litter box that has curved edges on it and EVEN if they didn’t have the curved edges, my rabbit still has enough height on the litter pan so she doesn’t pee over the edge. She is spayed and that is why she was able to start using a litter box.She has plenty of space to enter/exit (video) as well as a nonskid clear mat that I put under her litter box to keep from sliding. I change her litter every day/every other day since there isn’t much air circulation in there so take note of that for your own pet.I would love to get some replacement z boards for the entrance of the enclosure. If the company comes out with replaceable I’d like to purchase some.

Temporary fix
If you are looking for a quick and easy enclosure to put together than this is a good product to choose from. Instructions are clear, and honestly all you'd have to do is look at the product picture to put it together it's so simple. However, if you have an older cat (and an apparent vertical peeing one too) then this enclosure is not for you. It will not hold well if your cleanings aren't twice per day for an entire deep clean, as the engineered wood holds about as solid as a couple layers of wet cardboard. It will smell after a while since as again, it is engineered word or glorified cardboard. I also replaced the hardware with 2 of HomeDepot's "Everbilt Double Roller Catch with Spear, Zinc Plated (1-Pack)" because the magnetic one kept opening when the cats would scratch at the door from the inside.I've purchased this first from Wayfair, then found a better price on Amazon and have replaced it about 3-4 times over the years but ultimately realized the amount of money spent on the enclosure alone could have been saved if I had just went with a full wooden one, or even a hard plastic insert to save the cardboard from seemingly inevitable deterioration.Overall, it is a nice product to use for a short period of time, and it is worth it for the price listed.
