Worth the money!
So far so good! Was easy to install. Did have to fiddle with it to get it adjusted correctly. But it closes the door very quietly! It is much better than a pneumatic one!

HYDAULIC DOOR CLOSER
THIS HYDRAULIC DOOR CLOSER WORKS WELL AND COMES WITH ALL NEEDED PARTS TO MOUNT IT.I MUCH PREFER THIS TO PNEUMATIC.

This is what ALL storm door closers should be..
This is what ALL storm door closers should be..it's true hydraulic so the door doesn't start slamming or work in unexpected ways as seasons change. Very smooth. Only problem is that I wish it was only 2-3 inch longer and let the door open past 90 degrees. That prevents proper access in my case.

Fit in place of an old pneumatic on a security screen door
A perfect replacement for the original closer. I had a pneumatic closer on a metal security screen door that wasn’t up to the task. When the door closed, it would bounce open just before closing then slam shut. This hydraulic closer has no bounce, it is a steady close rate from the time it’s released to when it’s completely closed, and it the same amount of force to open as the old closer. I installed it in 105° temperature and needed to open the valve about 5-6 turns to see it start moving. Others have mentioned it was slow to close in cold weather, but this has the easiest adjustment I’ve seen; just turn the cylinder in the direction of the arrows to adjust. I highly recommend this.

Just as advertised
It's easy to install - would have been a little easier with 3 hands :-) but otherwise the directions were straightforward.good price and works great. If I were to suggest single improvement, completely for goofballs like me - it would be to add 1 extra black screw. I easily stripped the first one - ( using wrong bit...again, my fault) but , I had to replace it and didn't want to go to hardware store. I used a silver one and colored it with a sharpie...

it closes the door quietly rather than slamming it
Easier to open than the one I bought at home depot. Additionally, it closes the door quietly rather than slamming it, which is a welcome change.* Lastly, this door closer doesn't have that idiotic touch-n-hold "feature" that causes hydraulic cylinders to explode. However, it does squeak a little on closing, which is kind of annoying. I didn't take any stars off because it's hard to find quality a door closer with the above features.* To any Joe fix-its out there: if you must slam the door then you didn't install it correctly!

Lightweight
This is not suitable for medium to heavy weight doors. I adjusted it to the strongest closing strength, but it was still inadequate to pull the door closed. Maybe suitable for a lightweight door when there is no wind. I did like the easy adjustment by turning the closer. Had to return it though for something stronger.

Better than the last one.
The idea of the hydraulic door closer is a good one. Slow, steady closing instead of the bouncing and slamming of the pneumatic kind. We've been in this house for 7 years and I've had 4 different closers. The original that came with the house was pneumatic and was annoying. I got a hydraulic closer from the Depot, and it lasted about a year before it started leaking oil on the floor. Called the mfgr, and they sent a new one, which lasted about another year. I ordered this one from Amazon and it's been about 2 years without a leak. However, I've found that if the door is opened a little too far, the chrome rod will bow slightly, which causes a shuddering when the door closes. Grab it and bend it back and it will be OK, but the rod may be a little light for the job.
