Critical instructions -RFID chip!
First, there are two small screws to the fob, one in the center of the back - DO NOT REMOVE- and a second, at the base of the key at the “chrome ring piece”. To install your remote you need the “button” unit AND the hidden RFID Chip! It’s inside your factory key under a cover adjacent to the “angled or slanted” section of your button unit. You must carefully pry out the chip and glue it inside the new fob. Use a sharp blade or knife to cut away the plastic around the chip. It has some adhesive holding it in place so be gentle! To open the new fob, remove the base screw and the cover will rotate back and up. Glue in your RFID chip first making sure not to block the button unit. Once the glue is dry , install button unit. Get key cut and you’re done!

New fob transponder location too far away to start car
I wasted $45 to have a locksmith cut a new key. I then installed the old key electronics into the new fob. The key worked the engine would turn over, but the car engine died. A flashing green key light appeared on the dash indicating the car was immobilized since the car did not recognize the signal.

Very good deal, overall.
Does what it says on the tin. It doesn’t feel cheap. Two small issues, but not a problem if you can DIY: the immobilzer chip needs glued in as far forward as possible (simply done with a dab of silicone) and getting the spring back in and loaded will take a few tries and the instructions aren’t that clear. Also, beware taking the screw out, the spring is under load and will pop the components in the air. Sure beats paying the dealer price.

Works perfectly
I have had this key for 3 years now, I play with the key coming in and out all the time as I'm standing there talking to co-workers or waiting in line for fast food and it has held up absolutely no problem.

Key not detected
If you have a factory OEM key it may work. Aftermarket keys position the transducer differently and it is too far from the volume to be picked up and the key will not start the car. Even using the factory FOB the key will sometimes fail and has to be reinserted or let set for a few seconds to be detected. You must have the key cut and programmed at a locksmith which cost me $75. Honda keys cannot be programmed without special equipment as you can with Ford and possibly other brands. So buyer beware, this shell may be cheap but getting it to work is not.

Very solid upgrade
This seems much more rigid than the OEM Honda combo key with its flimsy shell. In my case, the whole thing was chipping apart little by little so it was only a matter of time for me to find a replacement. Even though the chip is spaced further back, I've yet to come across any sort of sync issues with the reader on my 2010 Fit. Since there's a locksmith frequently on hand at where I work, getting the blade cut was very quick and easy.
