Makes reloading faster and more intuitive.
I didn't realize how useful his modification was going to be until I installed it on my 10/22 I am preparing for a marksmanship event where I know we will be asked to unload our firearms repeatedly. This means removing the magazine, locking the bolt open and then releasing the bolt when the command is given after reloading with a fresh magazine, This makes the whole reload process much more intuitive.

Nice upgrade
I wasn't 100% sure this would be much of an upgrade but it certainly helps, installation wasn't all that easy,from start to finish maybe a half hr to complete.

Works but gritty
Fits and functions but the side that goes against receiver has sharp edges especially around the holes. It felt gritty but functioned nonetheless. After a few minutes with some sandpaper I was able to smooth everything out. Not bad for a cheap upgrade. Installed in a Ruger bx trigger
