Get the Value While You Can
This isn't the first box set from ABBA and despite it including 2021's Voyage it still isn't complete. A few bonus tracks or stray non album tracks are missing. That said, this is a fairly complete collection. If you see it on sale I suggest picking it up as deals on box sets from the group don't stay deals for long. Note the costs for 2005's box set ABBA - THE COMPLETE STUDIO RECORDINGS, which quickly went out of print. This box is likely to do the same so get it while you can.

My 76-year-old Mom loves ABBA
Shipped and received before the scheduled date, all the discs in great condition, she's dancing like a teenager again! (Dancing Queen...🤣)

Good set of Abba CDs
This is a decent set of 10 CDs full of good ABBA music. My only complaint is that with the running times, they probably could have fit all the music on fewer discs thus reducing the carbon footprint of the product.I was completely satisfied by everything else with this set.

Mixed bag boxed set with some very good and some so-so remasters.
When is a boxed set worth getting even when it’s not perfect? When it’s ABBA. The band has had multiple reissues including previous boxed sets. Some were brick walled, others used less than optimal tapes with drop outs and other flaws. This set, a;though not perfect, does make up for some of the flaws of the previous one(s).The brightness that was an issue with the previous remasters has been tamed with a subtle addition of more bass (how much is subtle, I guess it depends on your ears). These are not flat transfers. There are a couple of tracks/albums where there is some brick-walling but the remasters here sound (to me at least) less fatiguing and have better dynamic range than the previous boxed set. Are these as dynamic as they could’ve (I.e., an audiophiles dream)? Nope. Iwould prefer dynamics much more robust but these are not as bad as the previous remasters and improve on what was done before. What mystifies me is WHY we just can’t get perfect sounding, dynamic recordings with appropriate mastering moves to compliment the music rather than make it sound ‘modern’ and with flaws in the analog master tapes repaired. It isn’t rocket science but the major labels sure make it seem like it is. You’d also expect the musicians to want their music to sound the best possible but, as Oasis has proven time and again, musicians aren’t always the best judge of what sounds best.Is this worth getting? If you have the previous box and want to k,prove on it, yes. The price is not as steep as many (like the Blondie remasters) and there is a healthy selection of singles/rarities here as well. The packaging is decent although not up to the Japanese standards. So still not perfect but better than before. The definitive versions remain the original CD remastering for digital, for most (but not all of these). As to vinyl, I can’t even begin to speculate although the original vinyl pressings always sounded pretty good to me and you dom’t run into the QC issues of today’s vinyl.
