this works well
Wasn't sure about this as it was one of the cheaper ones, however it has performed perfectly since I had it. The outputs are accurate and easy to tune.

Superb PSU
This is great as a psu and as a battery charger for the batteries for my mobility scooter and for my electronics hobby. Great protection built in with a wide range of dc voltages and current limiting. The price put this professional utility into my budget range too.

Good if you don't actually need fine control
Yup, this certainly is a variable power supply, and it does indeed supply power, so that's good.My main issue is with those controls. First, you can only turn the dials so far. That means if you're trying to finely adjust the voltage, but you're at the limits of the "fine" dial, you need to switch to the coarse dial, push it with that (definitely overshooting your target), and readjust with fine the other way. That would be just a mild annoyance if not for the second issue; the "resolution" of the two dials doesn't match up. There are "dead spots" where from one coarse setting the minimum fine setting is too high, and from the next, the max fine setting is too low. Want that setting? Be prepared to tweak both dials again and again and hope to get lucky. To be honest, it feels like money was spent in the wrong places. While I daresay someone had use for a USB port on their PSU, I doubt most people do, and why have a grounding port if you're not going to include a cable to connect it to anything? Save the cash on those, put in controls that give better control over the ouput; that's the main function, after all. This could be much, much worse. I don't regret buying it, for my purposes. But if I had the chance to choose again, I'd splash out slightly more for one with a keypad for entering values rather than dials.

Good value item
Handy power supply with coarse and fine controls to produce precise current and voltage output. Clear illuminated display against black makes for easy readout too.

Does its Job
Would give it a 4.5/5 but as that's not an option 5 will do!🤣 It's only couple downfalls is there seems to be a voltage drift of about 0.05V when it's on, you can adjust it wherever you want but if you leave it alone eventually it'll drift -/+0.05V practically that's not much of an issue and it's a very easy fix, it's just a slightly annoying thing for an OCD person who wants it to always be the exact same voltage and not have to keep tinkering with it to set the voltage back as should be!Only other issue is just more of a personal design issue, with the switch being at the back as opposed to the front. I use to have a different power supply but I needed the extra Amperage this offers, and that had the switch at the front, which made turning it off and on a lot more convenient than this is with the back.Otherwise it's a brilliant piece of equipment that does exactly as it should- overall happy!

A cost effective PSU for electro-chemistry, much better spec needed for a general bench supply.
This was purchased as a low cost PSU for electro-chemistry. It has a number of limitations, including a main on/off switch at the back, and an inconvenient way to set the constant current limit, requiring the output to be shorted. It is very small and light weight, operating on switch mode technology. It has a cooling fan in the back that switches on when the internal circuit runs hot. Ok for electro-chemistry, not recommended as a general electronics bench power supply.

It's pretty compact
Accurate, and precise already tried, works good for me.

Just the job
As I restore boomboxs for a hobby this has been invaluable just set the current you need and connect allowing me to mess inside without being blown onto next doors sofa .Easy to set what you want and totally reliable.I wouldn't be without it now.
