I finally read this book 6 years later
I bought this for whatever reason as a non medical person going into an EMT course thinking it may help me. Obviously it was Greek to me and I put it aside. I then began an EMT Advanced course and cracked the book again after completing the registry exams. It made sense more than the first time but only read 10% of the book and maybe understood and retained 10% of the information so in total, I understood 1% of the book LOL. I knew normal sinus, sinus Brady, sinus tach, atrial fibrillation, VT and VF, and asystole lol. I put it down. Two years later I started nursing school. I tried to read it again. I gave up. I had too much on my plate. After becoming a nurse, I was hired due to EMS experience and a high GPA straight to a my states largest hospital into its Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. I oriented for 8 months and finally picked up the book after being on my own. Of course with time and experience in the unit, I was exposed to so much information and so many complex cases. All of a sudden, this book was a GOLD MINE. In conjunction with using LITFL online, this book was the Bible of cardiology. Of course, you have to want to learn and seek to know more than just what’s in the book. Since, I have read this book front to back five times resolidifying my knowledge and skills and applying them in real life care. This book really helped sew it all together and I’m so thankful I purchased it. I highly highly highly recommend this to any person working specifically in cardiac critical care, paramedics, medical students, and any doctors going into cardiology or actively working cardiology. I keep this in my work bag to refer to almost daily. Great read!

Mixed Feelings - Reviewed others ratings --- &
-My book did NOT contain any printing errors (2nd Ed., 2021)-Some of the reviewers comments on specific pages & photos appear different & may have been correct-It has EKG illustrations, but referencing measurements when the imagines are small, makes it difficult to see & understand their implied variation to know what to look for-The book reads easy in explaining the EKG changes, it describes simple EKG basics, - then - jumps to EKG interpretations that address more of an MD., degree or cardiac specialist, than it does for a RN's needs. So, if you are going to be a RN in an CCU, Cath-Lab, Cardiologist office or Cardiac specialty this could be helpful.-It offers Rx solutions for some EKG rhythms, but does not speak to ACLS or PALS if that is what you are looking for.-Overall it helped explain rhythms, instead of just offering a view, helped with understanding what could change a rhythm; i.e. drug, trauma, etc- I wished there were 6-second strips to the most important lead as a visual to go with their 12-lead, such as p.93, Osborn wave - is very difficult to see, so had to rely on google, because I needed to use google to help with visuals, I gave 4-starsOVERALL, it was a good price in comparison,

Great for review or to learn
I've been a monitor technician for 20+ yrs. Now I'm advancing my career, I've chosen this book for reference. All information is clear for a new or experienced audience. Great detail. The only thing I wished was there was a part 2 for more in depth interpretation for ecg :)

For nurses not ekg students
This book didn’t help me at all in my ekg class to become a tech. It was to advanced for a reg tech.

Great for practicing nurses/healthcare providers
I purchased this book for a review and to stay on top of my ECG skills since I work as an RN on a telemetry unit. It is in depth and has lots of valuable information. It is written well and breaks things down for you to really understand and never forget. I bought the workbook as well and I love it. I highly recommend this series!! (I did purchase another author and the book was terrible so I was happy to find these). If you are a student, RN or other healthcare professional who likes to really know and understand things in depth this is for you! It has quizzes at the end of the chapter to make it easy to review so that you retain the material…for me personally I like this method. Recommend :)!! (Also, it came with QR code for free digital ECG reference).
