Worked just fine
I bought this to remove the cranks on a little 20" mountain bike. I found that it did the job perfectly fine. There are three parts to this. There is the piece that threads into the cranks and which must be carefully started so as not to cross thread it. Screw this in as far as it will go and nip it up using a spanner etc. It does not need to be tightened too much. The second piece is threaded through the centre of the first piece. Grease these threads to protect them as they are the ones most likely to strip if you overdo it. Grease is used on the threads of commercial vehicle pullers so if it is required there, it will do no harm here and you might just get to get many uses out of your purchase. The third piece is a little cap that sits over the end of the second piece i.e. the part that actually does the pushing. In my case it was too large for this little bike so I added a little grease here and proceeded without it which was not an issue. The first crank I attempted to remove was very tight indeed due to dirt, rust etc and I felt that were I to continue tightening the puller, it would strip so I stopped. I sprayed a little PlusGas on the area and left it for a few minutes. I then took a rubber mallet, but a hammer would do perfectly well and tapped the cranks a few times. I tightened the puller a little, tapped some more and so on until the crank came free. The puller did what it was supposed to do and just required a little assistance to get the job done.

Essential for removing square hole crank arms..
Although no instructions were included with this item, it was easy to screw the the outer tube in to the round hole around the motor shaft axle, after removing the securty nut. I had meant to spray the square shaft with penetrating oil overnight, but did so only 10 mins., before commencing work.I tightened the inner shaft of this tool, on to the end of the motor shaft, with a 6 inch shifting spanner to prevent over strssing the crank arm square hole threads.A succession of light tapping of the tool's shaft end and around the crank arm head with a small tack hammer, followed by re-tightening of the shaft, repeatedly , enabled the removal of the crak arm in around ten mins. A great little tool.

Tool Works Well
This is one of those tools that you need once in a blue moon for a specific task ... in this case removing your pedal cranks from the main drive and cycle body. If you only do this job once every couple of years then this is the only time you'll time you'll need this tool as it serves no other purpose. The tool works well and makes the job relatively easy but you might get better value if you're buying this item as part of a cycle maintenance kit. One of those items that you'll need to remember where you've put it because you'll only need it once in a blue moon!!

worked but destroyed itself.
What you should expect for the price. It managed to remove a pair of pretty stubborn crank but the soft metal on the inner of the tool squashed and ballooned out, some of the threads were warped and the bolt started to round off.Would advise spending a few quid more to get something that wont destroy itself in one use but this can work once if needed.

It’s a buy, great time saver.
Worked perfectly. Good value for money. Easily used and saved lots of time trying to undo it with the wrong tools. It’s a buy.

Poor quality and didn’t work - DO NOT BUY
Poor quality and didn’t work. Instead, despite greasing - ruined the threads on the existing cranks. Stop selling this product.
