Del Monte Whole New Potatoes, 8 Count

I had never had canned potatoes, didn’t know they were even a thing. Some things can well, some things don’t. Potatoes can just fine.

I am training my 40 year old daughter to cook. This is a must addition for stews and for beef and vegetable skewers on the grill. She (and the grad kids) like it so much I sent them a case.

a) The Del Monte potatoes are excellent, and we use them frequently.b)The delivery performance was poor.. According to the web site there were three can sets of 8 available. I ordered 2 sets. I then got a message saying the order was being prepared. On the day of promised delivery i had another message saying they could not tell me when they would be delivered and did I still want them.I checked the web site and they advised that there were still tree sets of 8 cans available.c) The cans finally arrived very late and some were badly damaged,see photo

My local stores ran out of these around New Years. Yes, I know I could have bought real potatoes, but anyone who’s had these know they’re just a bit different in flavor. My mom made roasted garlic potatoes with these when I was growing up, so for me it’s a nostalgic thing. I’ve made the same potatoes on New Year’s Day ever since. So, Amazon was my only hope in having them this past New Year’s. I got a case of 6 cans. They’re delicious!

These canned potatoes are surprisingly good with just about anything…and so easy.Just put steaks or a small roast in a skillet, dump the potatoes in, and you’re done. I use a little bit of oil and some water, but you could use a broth of some kind. I’m all about EASY, so this is perfect! They have the small whole potatoes, sliced potatoes and diced potatoes, all equally delicious.

Product overpriced across the market place and cans dented (some badly). !!

I've used these in several different meals and am so surprised at how good they taste
