"Newton's Cradle".

I couldn't believe how many newton cradle's you could pick from! I read all the reviews and ended up chosing this one for my 16 year old. It was in perfect condition out of the box, and the silver base-although I think it is plastic is a pretty cool detail. Not like others out there. It works for about a minute which is the longest of all of the reviews I read. It is a bit on the higher end price-wise, but I think worth the extra money!

It is very light weight. The base is not solid nor flat and wobbles. The spheres are also light and do not make a nice sound. The UPS truck delivered to the wrong house and I had to go around the neighborhood looking for my package. Delivery aside the apparatus is pretty but works horribly. I am returning it.

My son has wanted one of these toys for years! I looked in many stores trying to find one!! It was exciting to finally find one on Amazon! The only problem I found was the packaging was a problem....while it is packaged with care and nicely done, there was an insert explaining, in detail, what NOT to do when taking this item out of its packaging, or it will ruin the product...the problem? This insert is at the bottom of the box, underneath the packaging....So we found it when the mistakes had all already been made/ We broke one of the lines to the ball....Thankfully we were able to put it back together...THEN we found the insert! While informative and very useful...it doesn't help if it isn't at the top of the packaging!Otherwise?? The item is wonderful & of great quality!!!! Thank you!

This was purchased as a Christmas gift. The first one broke on the first day (one of the strings broke). The company sent me a new one without any hassel. The second one is holding up and working great.

It works and looks good, but I was disappointed because my brother wanted one that goes on a long time. This one will go about a minute.

Nice and heavy base. The balls are heavy enough that they provide good impacts and have a nice 'smack' sound. A little pricey, but well worth the money in my opinion. I have had cheaper ones, but they never worked as well as this one .

For the extra dollar it charges, I am disappointed by how quickly the balls loose momentum, as well as how bleary the reflection on the base looks. The render of the image online make the product look as if it's made of heavy, high quality metal, but the real product is clearly too light to be real metal, and the reflection quality is too horrible to be of real metal. Another noteworthy thing is that the flat surface on the side of the base shows up as unreflective on the online image, but is actually made of the same reflective material as the curved surface.The strings attaching to the balls are a little bent when I received the product, which I feel has an impact on how well the balls swing. When I lift a ball and let it swing, while the balls on the side exchange momentum, the three balls in the middle shake slightly, clearly showing that the balls are not heavy enough.In conclusion, depending on how great you expect your newton's cradel to be, you may or may not want to buy this product. If you are expecting a professional looking, high quality product, you might want to find another product to buy. If you are satisfied with a mediocre looking, functional product that might last for a year or two, buy this.

I am writing this review to let people know that the extra money spent here is well worth it. I wanted to buy newton's cradle for my son but most of the reviews said "cheap and not durable." Many said the metal stand is made of plastic and the strings break. So I spent the extra money for this one. I have been playing with my son's new toy for a couple hours now (can't help myself). The stand is made of real metal and it is sturdy. There is a small chip in one ball but he will never notice. I predict this will be his favorite Christmas gift.
