EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR!!!
I have a 2010 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L V8 flex fuel engine that I purchased around April or May of this year and in driving it around I noticed at times that it just did not feel like it had the power that a V8 should and after having 3 V8 trucks prior to this one I know what it feels like to drive a V8 and for some reason this truck just seemed to lag whenever I accelerated or I can feel it lagging when it was shifting or whenever I had to turn onto a highway that was a speed limit of 70 mph and I'm at a dead stop and I'm turning on to it hitting the gas I am expecting a 5.3 l V8 engine to be seamless shifting from one gear to the next and for my RPMs to jump and for that engine to accelerate like it should, but for some reason it just felt like there was some hesitation, so was this in my head? Well so I thought or what else could it be? Besides that the truck has been a tank and never giving me the least bit of trouble, but I would be lying to say that this did not bother me because I just felt like I was not getting the full V8 performance for some reason or another. So long story short one day I was just messing around with the buttons while I was driving going through my mileage and miles per gallon and all that stuff that is located on your dash when you hit the buttons and then I came to one where it was showing my average miles per gallon and it also showed Inst. Economy V8 above would change to V4 and back to V8 And it would do this constantly while I was driving for no inexplicable reason and it felt like my truck was had going through an identity crisis and he couldn't tell whether or not it was a V8 or a V4 so upon recognizing this I immediately started doing research and reading and reading and reading and that's when I came to find out about the active fuel management system and how useless it really is... I'm not buying a 5.3 l V8 truck because I'm worried about the miles per gallon that I'm getting, I'm getting a V8 truck because of its versatility and it's power and it's durability and just logically thinking to myself this cannot be good that it is shutting off four of my cylinders and then turning them back on and doing this constantly day in and day out when I'm driving the vehicle and there's nothing that I can do about it... Except for replacing the whole camshaft in the lifters and a lot of other major parts which would end up being around 5 grand if I was lucky, so it hadn't caused me any problems as of yet and I was reading my GM manual that came with my vehicle and that's when I learned that the only way to stop this was to drive it in manual mode and so I did that just to test it for about 3 weeks or so. So basically whenever I would get in my vehicle and go to put it in drive instead I would put it in manual which is the M and the plus minus buttons on your shifter is basically for shifting gears and then I learned I could go up to 5th gear and it would stay in V8 mode the whole time but if I decided to go up into 6th gear then it would for some reason kick the AFM system back on, so I drove it around in fifth gear for about 3 weeks just to see how much gas I was losing allegedly.. well I basically wasn't losing any And if anything I actually gained more miles per gallon and that's when I decided to do some more researching to see if there was any other way that I could disable this ridiculous stupid idea that some idiot came up with to decide to put these in trucks or any GM vehicle with a V8 and some V6 engines as well I believe 4.2 l V6 engines because any engines smaller than that wouldn't be worth putting in AFM system and it because the fuel consumption isn't going to be quite as much, but like I said if you're buying a truck and you're like me and you get a 5.3 l V8 engine then you want to feel the power of that engine all the time and you want to be able to use it all the time or at least have control over it and they don't give you that option and that's when I came upon the AFM disabler and that's basically what it is and all it is and it is specifically made to disable the active fuel management system and that's it and that's all... So I figure hey if they are making these disablers then that must mean that these AFM systems are causing troubles in a lot of vehicles at some point or another and threw a lot of other research I learned that's exactly the case which ends up being high oil consumption and the lifters fail and this is extremely expensive to fix And so after looking at several different disablers because some are more expensive than others I decided to go ahead and get this one because it was about half the price as the Range AFM disabler And if that was my only option then I would have gotten that but thank God there was other options in this happened to be one of them so I decided to go ahead and give it a try And so as soon as I got it all I did was take it out plug it into my OBD2 port and it has been there for 3 months now and I have not removed it once and it has worked seamlessly and been everything that I thought it would have been, it has not disabled my cruise control or any other functions as others have mentioned and whatever's up with that I have no idea and whenever I'm driving and I come home and park my car or if I park my car anywhere once I turn it off and take out the key then the light goes off and there has been on occasion where I needed to run out to my truck and get something or whatever the case may be I put the key in the ignition and turned it on but may not have started the vehicle The light will come on and then I take the key out and the light will stay on so then I just turn the vehicle on and I wait a minute or two and then I turn it back off again in the light will go off and I just want to make sure that the light goes off because I don't want it to drain my battery and whether it will drain my battery or not I have no idea, but I don't want to find out, but like I said only under that circumstance did it stay on and the other 99.9% of the time when I'm driving it and I park it and I take the key out the blue light goes off And while I'm driving it I have kept the dash screen on the entire time to make sure that it never goes out of V8 mode and back into V4 mode and it never has it has stayed in V8 mode the entire time since I have put it in and finally I have the truck that I thought I was getting when I originally purchased it a true 5.3 l V8 engine that stays a V8 100% of the time so I would highly recommend this product to anyone out there who is having the same questions or thoughts that I had and you want to save yourself at least $100 I would definitely go with this front and I'm not one to leave many reviews unless I am extremely happy with a product and this happens to be one of those products because it is a world of difference with how my truck is performing and I can't tell a bit of difference with the gas mileage and if I have lost any miles per gallon then it isn't much and it's definitely not something I would be worried about or else I wouldn't have bought a V8 to begin with obviously... So I know this doesn't happen all the time but this product does exactly what it says it does it disables that stupid AFM system and I could guarantee it's going to save me having to spend thousands and thousands of dollars in the future in repairs And it still blows my mind that they're putting in these systems still in vehicles today, but now they say it's improved and now it's the dynamic fuel management system because it just doesn't shut down the same cylinders every time it shuts down different cylinders in different sequences, but it's all the same to me because it's still switching your V8 truck to a V4 depending on load management and you have absolutely no control over it so if it feels like only using 4 cylinders well then you're going to be driving around a 4 cylinder truck and now there's no more lagging and there's no more hesitation and the shifting between gears is seamless as it should be with a V8 engine and I'm loving every minute of it and I only wish I would have known about this or found out about this sooner... So if you were like me and this is aggravated and annoyed you and it feels like your truck doesn't quite have enough power well that's because it doesn't and I would definitely recommend this product and don't waste another minute and purchase this product and it will feel like you are driving an entirely new vehicle and your vehicle will love you for it

Prevents Your Engine From Blowing
It works perfectly and to my surprise, it even removed my check engine light which has been on due to bad CATs needing to be replaced. Unfortunately, I found out about this product after the engine blew in my 2017 Suburban. I had these engines before and I know I could easily get 350k miles out of it. I only had 167k miles and never towed a thing so I couldn't understand why it had bad cylinders. The service tech at the dealership told me that the cause was from the AFMs. He told me that secretly and said that if I told anybody at the dealership, that he would get fired. He told me about this product and when I plugged it in, instantly it worked. So sad to find out about this product after I just paid the dealership 13,600.00 for a new engine and install but it's one of the best engines GM ever made and they last forever too. At the dealership I also noticed they were replacing or rebuilding the same 5.3 engines that had blown as well.. The AFM is like a literal grenade under your hood and it's a shame that GM is purposefully hidding this informatiin from buyers just so that they can sell customers new engines. I won't buy any used chevy trucks with high mileage on them because I know that those engines have bad cylinders. So glad this is a simple fix.

Seems to work well, but be careful with it!
The device installs very easily, but there are times when you have to take it out, like for emissions tests or to use a code reader. The case pulls off when you try to remove the device if you're not very careful. Otherwise, it does just what it's supposed to do. I believe the gas mileage has improved by a mile or two per gallon for short trips. Can't wait to see how it does when we take one of our cross country trips!

It works to eliminate vibration by eliminating the V4 mode.
I have a 2008 GMC Sierra that I began feeling a slight vibration in when it passed 300,000 miles. I could barely feel the vibration, and noticed it more if I had ear buds or earplugs in. I finally discovered it was the V4/V8 AFM function that coincided with the engine in V4 mode. After much reading, I ordered this. Voila!!! It eliminated the vibration completely!I have now reached 509,000 miles and just purchased a newer 2015 Sierra with the same engine and only a few miles. So, I am purchasing another of these to hopefully prevent any engine failure from the AFM system in the new truck.

Good Purchase
We have a 2019 Tahoe with 5.3L engine. I purchased this on 1/11/22. This works as advertised. Installation was simple. Just plug this into your OBD-II port. Lights will flash for about 3 seconds, then turn to a solid blue light when ready. This keeps the vehicle in V8 mode and I have not seen it switch to V4 mode since it has been installed. I have seen a 2 MPG decrease in MPG per tank. Most of my driving is highway so it would engage the V4 mode quite often.I would recommend this product.I am hoping this will save me from having any DFM lifter failures that these engines are known for.

Did not work...
You have to disable the battery every time you want to use it, even after i did this it did not work. My truck continued to go to v4 and not stay in v8. Would not recommend.
