I purchased this item after seeing this item on a shopping channel. In fact, I was about to purchase this item from them knowing the importance of have a CO detector and to get one with a 10 year battery. I thought I could not go wrong but before I hit that confirm purchase button, I decided to check my trusty Amazon and what do you know? I found the same exact item on Amazon for less then the doubled price than that shopping channel was charging. The product is easy to set up because there is nothing to do other than take it out of the box and either sit it on a shelf or hang it from a nail. I would recommend this item as a must have because it is just that important. Your family is just that important.

I don’t know where I got them last. Pretty sure it had to be HD/Lowes but they both told me their time expired and started chirping. Tried to replace but box stores don’t carry these anymore. Both locations were between door casings and required this narrow footprint. Thankfully Amazon had them.

These things are always hard to rate. I've had it for a couple of months and it's never gone off. Isn't that a good thing, though? I like that it has the 10 year battery so I know I won't have to deal with chirps every 6 months. Also I like that the form factor is different than a smoke detector "puck". It is able to sit on a flat surface and since it looks different, I'm reminded that it's there. Maybe some people would want it to just disappear into the background, but when it comes to CO, I like to know I'm protected.

Received in October 2020, lasted until February 5th 2025, so 4 years and 3ish months. A rather far cry from the 10 year claim. The back of the item said something about removing a key and a whole list of things to do to decommission this for disposal. I simply busted it open and inside, to my surprise, are simply Duracell batteries, 2 AA it appears. The best thing about this item is I never received any false alarms unlike the prior one I owned that I purchased this to replace. This just happened to start beeping the exact same time as my fire alarms have been having issues, it caused me to redo two of them (very hard to get to) before realizing this device was the culprit.
