Seamlessly Integrates with Home Assistant—Awaiting Local Support
I've been extremely pleased with the starter kit. Setup was straightforward, and integration with Home Assistant was refreshingly seamless.Another huge plus is that each sensor features a loud onboard alarm. This means you'll hear alerts right away, whether you're checking your phone or not, giving you extra peace of mind. Overall, it's a top-notch system for detecting leaks quickly and accurately. The only drawback: There’s still no true local support, so you’re somewhat dependent on cloud connectivity. And while YoLink does offer a hub that might address this, it’s unfortunately been out of stock for a while. Despite that, this starter kit is an outstanding value that’s easy to recommend for anyone wanting to safeguard their home from water damage.

Easy set up, great device
So easy to set up and works great. Plug right into your router and scan devices with app. No pressure to sign up for monthly service. 5 year batteries! Detects water from top or bottom. I splashed from the sink accidently and got an alert. Well worth the $ with four sensors.

Great for homes
This is a great product for peace of mind if you own or rent. I had a flood in my bathroom and was not home. After this I got these, it has helped stop damage in my whole house. Love that you get real time alerts. Also, these work well under the dishwasher and fridge. Also helped stop leak from the dishwasher during the night. Easy to install and use. The price is right and gives accurate readings.

Bad default setting and no real time monitoring of sensors
Overall it seems pretty high tech and pretty easy setup, but there are some negatives. On a good note, the sensors are waterproof. On a bad note I found this out because the hub had disconnected from my network for a day, and as soon as I saw the light doing something funny I recycled the power and then got an alert that one of the sensors was in water. There are very few instructions that come with the package, so having the setting to notify you if the hub disconnects from the network turned off by default is bad in my opinion. The status of the sensors is not very accurate. After the hub powered on it said the sensors were offline for a very long time, like half an hour. And for firmware updates, it seems you have to do one at a time, otherwise they don't complete. I tried going for a walk with the one sensor to see when it would disconnect. It never did. It was a few degrees below freezing and it kept saying the temperature was 75. Then I went for a 40 minute drive, no record of the sensor saying it disconnected. On a positive note as soon as I brought the sensor back and put some water on it, it alerted me right away. It just seems unreliable that you don't know if a sensor is truly online or not.No integration with Alexa in Canada.Overall it seems fairly good, but even if notifications are turned off, there is no way the hub should stay disconnected from the internet for a day. And the invalid status of the sensors is kind of annoying. I guess it is workable know those things ahead of time, but not ideal for sure.Edit next day: Got another leak and it disconnected from the network in the middle of the night. But since I had the e-mail notifications for that I caught it. It reported the leak as soon as I repowered the hub.Changed from a 3* to a 4*. It is a good product, but it should not disconnect and stay disconnected for a day. I have other wifi devices and they don't do that. I don't know if they disconnect, but I use them throughout the day without any issue. And the sensors should show a valid status, not the status an hour ago or whatever time frame they use. They do report leaks right away, so that is the important thing, which is why I changed it to a 4*. Got another leak today and it notified me right away.

YoLInk is great!
This was my first purchase from YoLink: a bunch of water leak detectors. Since then I added two "auto" garage door closers (if somebody forgets and leaves the door open), a camera, and other stuff. I have been super happy with the setup, operation, and customer support. At the beginning I needed some hand holding.I wrote software for 40 years and want to comment on a couple things. First, YoLink has successfully NOT put in every feature any customer has ever requested. Look at Word or Excel to see a bloated app. YoLink is simple and logical without a bunch of confusing bells and whistles the average user does not need. Second, the software is ROBUST. When something goes wrong - like your power goes out or your wifi fails - the system comes back 'up' reliably.I like it.--jim
