If you haven’t got one of these don’t delay. Brilliant!
Decided to bring my hi fi tuner up to date and said goodbye to my Technics 1989 model. A big step! This is a fantastic piece of kit. Easy to set up. Works perfectly with existing retro Technics kit, same dimensions and colour and a clock too. Easy to set up, DAB brilliant, Spotify perfect, internet radio great just exactly what I wanted. Excellent sound through basic phono leads and brilliant value for money. 3 year guarantee as well all for £150. Well done for making something so good which has it all. A great product and thrilled with it. If you haven’t got one don’t hesitate.

Great Sound, Easy to Use.
I purchased this to replace on old Avox receiver that was about to cease operation. It was working fine, but the internet portal that provided its function was about to shut down leaving it about as useful as a house brick. I needed a replacement urgently and this looked good value and does everything I needed, plus some more. However, I was not expecting the receiver to be as good as it has proved to be. We live in a very poor reception area for radio where FM without a roof aerial is non-existent, and DAB only just about works on the strongest stations. You can imagine how surprised I was when starting up the Fitzwilliam and scanning DAB to discover that it found everything on the local multiplexes in great quality - well great for DAB. FM still was not able to provide a peep. Still, with DAB and Internet Radio I was well pleased. The unit is so easy to set up and was soon pulling off stations from the internet, of which there are literally thousands to choose from.I have been an audio enthusiast for most of my adult life and, in my working days, managed Hi-Fi stores and even worked as an audio engineer for a period. So all this to say I know a good piece of kit when I see (and hear) it. Obviously it's not going to perform as well as kit costing four or five times its price, but how Majestic, a UK company, is able to do it for this price amazes me. Yes, the screen is a little small and fiddly for sorting through large collections of music stored on a local NAS, but it does the job really well and plays all my FLAC files and sounds great. Incidentally, I play the unit through my Yamaha amp and B&W CM1 speakers. The product was designed in Cambridge and built overseas, so it was nice to be able to support a British company.

Very Good But Not Perfect
I was an early adopter of DAB radio with three DAB radios including a nice hi-fi model hooked up to my stereo system. Then of course DAB+ slowly took over and the stations that I listened to started to move over to DAB+ leaving me with very little station choice. The roof aerial for my hi-fi FM radio started to fall apart leaving me with a problem there as well. That's where this little beauty came in and at a very reasonable price. It's very good but not perfect hence the four star review. It's very easy to install and looks good. It has more features than I will probably need so there's no problem there. The internet radio works perfectly and gives a very good sound. The aerial doesn't work very well where I am due to my location. I think that it would have been a good idea to have a socket for an external aerial and it seems a bit mean to not include it as everything else seems to have been thought of.After a few weeks of trying the DAB+ stations and having mixed results I decided to strip some of my roof aerial cable to the bare wire and wrap that around the built in aerial. I then wrapped some tape around the wire to keep a good contact and keep it from making contact with anything else. This has worked perfectly and I can now get full enjoyment out of the DAB function. Please be careful if you try this method. The remote works fine but I do have to stand right in front of the unit to make it respond. I've found that EQ settings don't make much difference so I don't bother with that function. If you do use the EQ settings I had to reset it after every change of function which was a bit annoying.Having said all of that I am pleased with the overall performance and I consider it good value for money.
