Very well written
The author makes learning node.js easy. He doesn't assume you already know how to do things, e.g. install and setup node.js and express. He actually makes learning easy and explains everything clearly. I think Lim is a terrific author.

This is the right way to teach programming
This book is priceless! As a person who has an OK grasp of JavaScript, but have been struggling to get through any YouTube video tutorials on Express and MongoDB, this book got me there and made it fun. The code is clear and explanations are concise. There's no cutest stuff just clear explanations on what is being done and why. I keep this book held open with a clip next to my desk and it makes comparing what I have to what is being typed a breeze!Another thing I should mention is that the book follows along a bootstrap blog template and you turn that template into a working blog. At first I thought that it's strange to work with remade html, css, Js etc. But then I realized how useful this skill is to work with someone else's code and implement functionality around it. Genius! There's also some refactoring which I've gotten very practice in so far so I think it's a great excercise for newbs like me!So this isn't the book if you know zero javascript, css or html. But if you feel comfortable in all of those but have never worked on server side js or in node js, this is a good way to start!

Pretty good. Teaches by example.
Probably a good place to start. The book runs through some practical applications to teach node.js, which works well to a point. It lacks in presentation of fundamentals in sequential fashion and lacks little things like an Index. Not a textbook or reference book but will get working with enough competency to have some more intelligent questions to ask. I think that is what the author's intension was, so I believe he succeeded.

Gets You Up To Speed Quickly & With A Little Depth
It's been a while since I've had to dive into node so I went looking for something that was:1) Affordable2) Covered the key topics3) Had decent reviewsI chose this book in my total non-exhaustive search and I'm glad I did. I was remembering concepts I'd forgotten and being brought up to speed on new ones throughout each chapter. I had the Kindle version and it was well formatted - the code was easy to read and follow. If you want a truly deep dive into MERN, however, this is likely not the book for you. If you are new or want to get up to speed again like me - this book is excellent. At the end of the day I liked the author's approach enough I ended up getting his book on React and so far it's more of the exact same thing I was looking for.

Do not recommend kindle option
The kindle option is a mess. Code doesn't show up formatted and worse can't really copy and paste. Wish the author had a chapter based gitrepo. Also some of the stuff doesn't exist like the vendor folder no where does it states that needs to be created yet it's mention in the scripts layout.

Does what it says.
This book does what it says. Good for a beginner. The Clean Blog template from Bootstrap has been updated a bit since the writing of this book, a basic understanding of HTML will help. I can vouch for the code examples, it all works. I would of liked to seen router examples, but I’ve got a far better understanding of Express. Easy and fun, I finished it twice. I recommend it. Working source code at DelMouse/Clean-Bog on git hub if you encounter issues.

Perfect Tutorial
You’ll have to google some stuff, you’ll have to fix some errors, but that’s what programming is. Literally the first programming book I’ve finished. Covers everything you need to know is a simple basic way that lets you focus on spending your time to learn and spend your own time researching how to make it all work on your own creations. Highly recommend. Don’t pay attention to the distractors, every programming book is out of date six months after it is released, but with some googling and a bit of work everything is doable.

Easy to recommend, with video support and prompt attention from the author.
This is a terse, but well written into to a pervasive, and important web technology, node.js.Was able to review the content as videos, that the author curates and provides free for registered users of the book.I've tested the code both on a remote server, and a local Raspberry Pi Zero, and it ran fine. Only downside is the source code is not hosted on Github, but this does force you to concentrate, and type in the code by hand. Good learning experience.
