Perfect find
Noise level is perfect. A lot easier to control and use in big rooms.

Ignore the negative reviews - they must have put it together incorrectly
I almost didn't purchase this Lasko S16612 16" Adjustable Pedestal Fan with Thermostat and Remote Control due to of all the negative reviews that said it didn't sit right in the base, was wobbly, can't move fan around without it falling apart, it's a safety hazard, etc. It was a quick assembly and you just have to make sure that the pole is pushed all the way into the base and the fan assembly itself. I wouldn't but I could dance around with it if I wanted to. LOL I also watched a video that showed it vibrating so bad causing loud noise that if I had seen before purchasing may have completely turned me away, but my guess is that he didn't get the threads lined up and screw the blade in correctly. On first test run, it seems like a great fan! I'll edit if the reviews that say it died quickly turn out to be true, but so far it seems like the perfect replacement for my broken fan that I've hung on to because I couldn't find another temperature controlled one!

Pretty good fan, with an interesting thermostat feature
These are pretty good fans. They have a nice set of features, including a thermostatic setting which if the temperature falls below the selected one (5 degree increments), the fan stops blowing. Very handy over night when the temperature starts out high enough to need the fan and then dips low enough that the fan wakes you up with chills if it keeps going. In my opinion, superior to a countdown timer, which this also has. It's not too noisy, although there is a bit of a hum. Speeds start at the highest and step down to off, which makes it a more annoying to speed up, but with 5 speeds, it's not too bad to cycle through. Although you do lose timer or temperature settings when you go through off. The remote is a little obnoxious, as it also controls fans of other brands which makes setting all the fans more exciting than we might wish. Worse, the buttons affect the other brands differently. so changing the speed on this may start another brand oscillating. The top height is a bit lower than some, and the downward tilt is limited. On the other hand, height adustment is pretty good, so can compensate for the limited tilt. Cord is adequate, and if not long enough, there is always the option for an extension cord.

Quality
Got this for added air flow at night and it has been great! Like that it has a remote with it so I can control it from bed. Puts off great air and was easy to assemble!

Stopped oscillating
This seemed to be a very nice fan. I followed the simple instructions and put it together with no issues. It is sturdy and nice looking and not too loud. However, after less than 2 minutes, it stopped oscillating. Plus the remote never worked. I changed the batteries but still nothing. That wouldn't be a game changer for me, but I paid more for the oscillating feature. The manual says to contact the company directly but their phone lines aren't working so I opted for a live chat. After waiting 2 hours one day (until their lines were closed for the day) and almost an hour the next, they ended up saying they would replace it. Well, its been 2 weeks and I still don't have a new fan. I again contacted them via live chat and they assured me it should be on its way soon and that they would update me with the shipping information and tracking numbers. That was 5 days ago, and still nothing. To say the least, I am not happy with this company's service. Its too bad because it really is a nice fan. It just doesn't do what it is supposed to do.

Worth every penny
I sleep with a fan on every night, 365 days a year and for the sake of simplicity, let's say 6 hours. I bought this fan in October of 2020. Let's do some simple math:The amount of days it's been since I started running this fan is 1,532.6 hours/day * 1,532 days = 9192 hours. This fan has ran for over 9k hours and STILL works! I'm sensitive to sounds at night, hence the need for this fan. I only just noticed that the bearings are probably starting to go out, but again, I'm sensitive to sound.TL:DR - This fan is worth every single penny, so after 4 years of heavy use, I'm buying another one.
