Tri-Bar LED Rear Tail Brake Fender Tip Light For Harley Street Glide FLHX 2014-2023 (Smoked)

I originally LOVED having an extra brake light on the back of my 2018 RG. Running light mode was brighter than HD's OEM tri-bar. It's what HD should have done from the factory. Then: Same as others' complaints: even though I filed down the lock tabs on this tri-bar, I had to zip-tie the wire connector plugs onto and around the light as they do not snap-fit into the tri-bar receptacles and they want to fall of even without vibration. Then, a month or so later, the LEDs started burning out. Less than 6 months after ordering this tri-bar replacement (of course also after the return window has closed), and to this day, a year or so later, I now have NO LIGHTS from this tri-bar. Awaiting a better, more reputable replacement before tackling the job of swapping it out again.Wasn't too fond of being able to see each individual LED in this tri-bar replacement either.This is especially relevent since today's technology has the ability to diffuse and smooth the transition of LEDs to look like a continuous strip of light (think "plasma rods").It is a GREAT idea that, as always with HD, SHOULD have come STOCK on the bike to begin with.This one: not worth my money and time

I needed to install this into a chrome fender extension (fascia) on a 2008 Road King Classic. Works good but I had to open it to get the secret for the wiring. After I soldered the wires I hot glued the port closed on both sides to prevent moisture. Easy wiring can be obtained using wires soldered to computer pin jumpers that you can just insert on the LED light's pins. Or if you really like pain, buy just the Harley 12 pin plug and wire it up. Either way you do not have to open the housing if you use this wiring guide. If you want to open it, it is just held together by some kind of flexible black sealant gluing the lens to the body. I used a 1 inch putty knife and slowly worked my way around the lens.Looking at the light from the LED side, using the LEFT PORT the top 2 pins are RUN. The second set of pins down are BRAKE. The bottom set of pins are GROUND. You can use either pin or both. I used 2 feet of wire shrink wrapped and run through the fender wire clips into the left side tail light hole. I connected (spliced) the LED GROUND wire to the BLACK tail light bulb GROUND WIRE. I connected the LED RUN wire to the BLUE tail light bulb RUN WIRE. I connected the LED BRAKE wire to the tail light bulb's RED/ORANGE STRIPE BRAKE WIRE.This light is very bright when installed properly. In the run mode, it is brighter than my stock donuts and tail light. In brake it lights the road behind me and is a quite noticeable at any distance. Way cheaper than a 2009 and up HD SG stock light and wire. You can have 4 of these for the price of 1 of those. Pictures should answer your wiring questions. Have fun!

I got it to work but it wasn't easy. It came with no instructions. I had to look deep into the reviews to find a guy who explained how he was able to get it to function. Thank you to that guy.

Took a little time to come in but the product itself is very good for the price.Running light portion is brighter than the stock unit & the best part is the brake light function that is added. I always felt there wasn't quite enough for the brake lights on these models so this unit helps that.Would recommend.

Put on a 19 Road Glide Special. Easy install. Remove the cover from the old one before trying to remove the screws! Connectors are a little fluky but seem to be holding up well. Not super bright, but I like the brake function. Can’t have too many lights. Also added the CD strobe to flash everything including this light.

Save your money guys I installed this thing upon opening the box. It seemed like it was gonna be a good product. I installed it put it on my Harley Davidson at work. Great. It lasted for literally less than two weeks and lasted nine days and it broke and it failed.
