Powerful features for a low price.
I’ve been using Atmel debuggers for years in a professional development role. The newest on in their family, the Atmel ICE can handle both ATMega devices and Atmel’s new ARM devices like the SamC21. It also does the touch debugging stuff for the C21, no need for that QT100 board anymore. Coupled with Atmel Studio, it’s a powerful development tool. And, it costs hundreds less than the other ARM debuggers. So, whether you are a professional or a hobbyist, this is a great tool to have on your bench.

Hobby pricing for a professional ICE
I'm looking to use atMega processors for some hobby applications and a friend encouraged me to start with the Atmel ICE. I'm eager to purchase or build another cable for my bench, but overall the ICE works great.I'm having some problems trying to use Arduino boards with the ICE, but I do understand I need to de-Arduino-ize the Arduino boards. This is just part of the learning curve.
