Q: I live in an older home and my wiring is the "two wire" rather than three used today. Will this work on my wiring system?

In order for this unit to work you will need a “neutral” lead (normally white from breaker panel), a “hot” lead (normally black from circuit breaker a “load” lead (normally black from switch to light), and an earth ground (normally bare solid copper from switch chassis to ground buss bar in breaker panel) A two wire make/break switch configuration, that you are referencing, will not support this particular switch without a “neutral” lead from the breaker panel. If your home wiring includes a “neutral” white wire, usually twisted together in the back of the switch box, but not currently wired to the two-wire light switch, you can add the “neutral” wire from the new switch to that group. Now, you still need a bare earth ground connection to connect to the green wire. Unfortunately, without all of the above, any alternate wiring configuration could cause current leakage within your home. Hope that helps... Larry Kirby

Hi, It's not required to use the included plate, you can try to fit in your regular plate.

Q: Does it work with led bulbs, especially multi-led fixtures?

NO for my multi-LED T8 bulbs! Flickers and doesn't dim properly with Philips LED InstantFit Dimmable 4-Foot T8 Tube Light Bulbs. It's either full on or flickers horribly at lower settings. I even made sure I had the recommended electronic ballast for the Phillips bulbs. If you know of a smart dimmable switch that works, let me know.
