Expert Shield Crystal Clear Screen Protector for Sony A7 / A7R / A7S Camera, Standard

I feel compelled to first comment on the fun loving and borderline debauched but welcomed humor that the good folks at Expert Shield put into both their product application instructions and packaging. Few sellers, very few sellers I will say...show up to the product description party carrying three cases of epic wordery as Expert Shield. If I knew nothing else about the product I would be inclined to purchase it just for the reason I know I am buying from real people who stand behind their product and want you to know just how great it is and why. This company seems very personable and friendly like people you know from your hometown or people you meet at your favorite pub or people you see at your local Turkish bath house and people you meet at your local adult movie theatre...you know...good people. They genuinely appear to care about the satisfaction of the customer.Anyway, let's get down to brass tacks here. Of course I purchased this screen protector for my A7r because I needed something to safeguard my screen while in the field. I needed the toughest yet lowest profile screen shield I could find.The shield so far has been excellent. After removing the shield packaging I saw it was not flimsy nor was it overly stiff-imagine a thin credit card. It optically was very clear as best as I could see through the plastic backings.After reading the instructions for applying it to my LCD screen I followed the suggested directions and set myself up in my bathroom after a shower. Before you ask ladies, yes, I was still in my towel and the bathroom was steamy...sultry even. In any case, the key was to find an environment to reduce the incident dust in the air as much as possible. I would highly re-recommend the slightly steamed bathroom method because it really does all but eliminate airborne dust. After cleaning my screen with a lens cleaner I wiped it further with the included lens cloth from Expert Shield. With a deep breath and crossed toes I slowly peeled the front backing and began attaching the shield to the screen.Fast forward a few brief and nerve killing moments...I managed in true "me" fashion to absolutely nail the job on the first try. This was thanks partly to my sensually masculine hands and largely to the great engineering and accurate cut of the screen protector. It fits as if it was made into the camera and is virtually unnoticeable in profile. I can see no apparent image degradation or color change from the shield. It is smooth to the touch and not sticky or tacky and appears adequate to protect your delicious A7r LCD screen.To sum up: this is an excellent product from my experience but I will have a more seasoned opinion the more I use it with my camera in terms of extended adherence and scratch protection. However, at the time this review was written, I could not be more satisfied with the A7r screen protector from Expert Shield.Adam a.k.a the guy in the towel.

Very poor quality. Not stick well. Super reflective. A shield at this kind of quality just sells for $0.25 in any Chinese online store. Never buy this brand.

Like most screen protectors, it usually doesn't go on right or look good the first time. Ive got two A7 series cameras, and with the first one I had to re-position it slightly but eventually got it on and looking fairly good, you almost wouldn't know its there unless you look closely at the edges where there are a couple of slim spots where it didn't stick down completely, but over all it applied fairly well. Second camera, fit was also good, first application was better than on the first camera, but when I proceeded to pull off the second layer of protective film (that you are supposed to remove in step 2) from the screen protector, the entire thing came off and went in the trash without me realizing it. Evidently the second layer of film had a better hold on the screen protector, than the screen protector had on my camera screen. I looked at the screen and was amazed at the fantastic job Id done until noticed I was just looking at the bare, clean screen with no protector on it. So I fished the protector back out of the trash and tried to reapply it and got nothing but dust bubbles all over the screen. Ive since taken it back off, rinsed it under warm water and reapplied a 3rd time with moderate results, no dust, but a couple of air bubbles on the edges that wont adhere due to having removed and reapplied 3 times, and a not so crystal clear looking screen. It will work to protect my camera screen for now, but Ill have to order a new one, Id rather not spend another $13 but Id like it to look good in the end, and I know this product works well if you can get it on the first time, but the application can be a little hit or miss.

I bought one for each my A7R and A7S. The first i tried was messed up with dust, i thought i can trash it. Then i read the instructions which gave me the hint to try to un-dust the foil with a tape, and well, saved me the foil. I have not one speck of dust under it with this trick. It feels very well made and i never used a protecting foil where it was so easy to press the bubbles out! Same on the other camera, perfect fit, no dust and no bubbles!The thing comes with a nice microbibre cloth, looks very luxury :)But the best thing about the experience is the customer service. They contacted me before it came in the mail that they will replace it and everything if it doesnt meets my expectations. Very nice and the instructions are made with love. Generally they really want you to love them and i have to say, i do:)

Didn't fit the screen. I told them and they sent me a 2nd one as a replacement saying it must have been a mistake and it fit the same wrong way. I bought it for my A7II and it didn't fit, too small.

Not the best screen protector I've used. I found it impossible to get rid of all the bubbles. The other brands I used before were much better in that respect. Other than that I don't have any problems with this protector, it clings well and stays in place.
