LodgeSCRAPERCOMBO Pan and Grill Scraper, Set of 2

These things are plastic... they are expensive for little hunks of plastic, BUT they serve their purpose. I have purchased some off branded ones and the plastic is different and it does not serve the purpose as well. I use cast iron almost exclusively and I have different tips, tricks, and habits for cleaning them but I find these probably the most used tool/resource in my arsenal. They are fast, effective, and I've found them to hold up well overtime. I've not ever had to replace due to damage, but I have had to replace due to losing them... don't ask me how, I don't know... but it's happened lol.These are NOT made in the USA like lodge pans, this is cheap junk, BUT it works and it works better than the ones that look very similar but are not lodge. (The plastic is different. These lodge ones seem to have a little give and flexibility where the other branded ones seem like kind of "brittle" for better words plastic. They don't work as well and DO break) So yeah, I recommend these.For me value has to do with how well something serves its purpose, if there are better alternatives cheaper, and what my perceived cost of the materials are. For me, this probably costs like 5 cents or something to make. It's cheap molded plastic lol. There are NOT better alternatives (that I have found). The overall cost doesn't break the bank even if it feels like a rip off. So I recommend :)

These work great with my lodge cast iron skillets!

Perfect scrapers for my grill pan (Lodge L8SGP3 Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron Square Grill Pan, 10.5-inch) and workhorse of a skillet (Lodge Cast-Iron Skillet L10SK3ASHH41B, 12-Inch). The skillet one can't get much better. I'd been using these cheap plastic mixing/frosting spatulas (which are, by the way, excellent scrapers for cleaning a LOT of cookware surfaces), but the hardness, weight, and shape of the pan scraper just has them beat.The grill scraper was a little less perfect. I was hoping for something that would have been made to a better tolerance in comparison to the ridges on my grill pan. They do fit, and do clean in between the ridges, but it takes a few passes to get down in the crevices and really remove stuff. You definitely can't get the level of scrape of caked on solids that you can with the pan scraper. That said, the grill scraper beats the pants off everything else I've tried, even (what's sure to induce a heart attack among cast iron purists) hot soapy water. The grill scraper is made from the same material as the pan scraper, so build-wise it has the same high quality over other scrapers I've used.In short, despite the deficiencies of the grill scraper, this set is just about perfect.

Both pieces are contoured nicely to scrape curves and sides of Lodge cast iron pans and grille. The grille scrubber is just okay at cleaning between the raised edges. Follow up cleaning with a chain mail scrubber is required to get thin remnants. The pan scraper works well knocking down high spots of seasoning on the sides. Overall pretty happy these scrapers exist, and the material should last a good while.

The tabs on the ends need to be ground down or the grooves will not contact the grill.
