When it comes to this style of articulating arms, you simply can't go wrong with NOGA. When 'Time is Money', then it doesn't make sense to try and find another brand to do what NOGA arms do. I've got a few smaller arms for other machines where measurements aren't super critical but my habit of 'overkill' drives me to measure to the Nth degree regardless, and they always bring along with them frustration. Particularly with the bases not having magnets strong enough. That's on top of terribly machined dovetail holders etc etc.Buy a NOGA and eliminate any source of frustration with dial holders.

Hands down the best magnetic base on the market. I've used many different styles and brands but Noga are the highest quality, smoothest acting and most secure when locked. The "noga style" made by different brands are bulkier, drop much more when rotated upside down on a shaft per se, and do not lock as securely. Trend to have to use excessive force on the lock knob which is really hard on the internals.I've had these for approximately ten years and still work beautifully. They get daily use and are the best money I've ever spent for a machinist/ industrial mechanic like myself.

This item is what you need if you are going to be a Machinist. Don't even think about getting a 50 dollars or 25 dollars version. Just get this one and don't wast money on cheaper ones. I have bought a cheaper one and I am tell you wast of money. Just get this right away even if you are just starting.
