Looks good, hard to assemble
If you get one of these, prepare for an adventure! Replacing a portable gaming system's shell is not something for the faint of heart, those with bad vision, or those with klutzy fingers. If you just want a different color for your PSP, there are other, easier ways. My reassembly still isn't entirely perfect, even after several tries. That said, if you're up to the challenge, this will serve you nicely--Once you get this on, it doesn't look like you have a third party replacement shell. It looks like you have a whatever-colored PSP straight from the factory. (pink in my case). The material feels comparable to the original, and it has all the trim and accents in the right place, right down to the branding. It comes with a link to instructions. (STUDY THEM CAREFULLY FRONT TO BACK BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING. Taking pictures of what screws look like at any given layer [especially the eight(!) in the LCD bracket] would not be a bad idea.). It also comes with all the buttons, including L and R, and an analog stick cover that they don't show in the pictures here.Unfortunately, there are a few gotchas: First, the screwdriver they include was woefully inadequate in my case, especially for those stubborn external screws. Invest a few dollars in a set of high quality precision phillips and slot screwdrivers and you'll save a lot of headaches. Additionally, the molding of the plastic isn't entirely perfect--at least on the one i received, the mounting for the UMD spring is a lot smaller, and less secure than on the original. It seems to work, but i'm a little paranoid that it will all come undone. Finally, the lower buttonbar that came with mine doesn't "stick" in the outer faceplate the way it seems to in the original housing, making the final assembly a very tricky feat. My buttonbar actually snapped in two during assembly--though this doesn't actually seem to impair the function of the buttons, just makes it even harder to get into place.TL;DR: It's worth it, if you have the patience and dedication to install it.

I enjoy taking apart and working with electronics so the 'difficulty' of case swapping doesn't affect my rating. This is all kinds of cheap, from the quality of the plastic pieces to the aesthetics and worst of all is the imprecision of the parts. The face buttons on mine are not symmetric, the triangle, X and O being off center while the square button is off center and isn't even square, instead having it squished and rounded. The screen cover came with a slight scratch on the lower right of it.The button strip for the home, volume, brightness, etc buttons came ripped in half and needed to be super glued on to not fall off.The joystick nub is too loose and doesn't stick on and doesn't go as deep as a normal one so isn't flush with the case even if glued on.The light channel for the wifi & adhoc lights was warped and couldn't fit into the openings and so snapped during assembly. Most of the holes are imprecise by ~.5-1 mm so many screws will go in at an angle if not screwed in at opposite sides. The UMD door on mine is warped away from the device and has a ~1.5 mm gap on the left when viewed from the back. The 4 metal rivets that the UMD drive screws into PUSH OUT OF THE PLASTIC, making it impossible to fully screw in the disk drive because the metal starts rotating with the screw.Since one of these rivets is also used for the top-right screw for the screen chassis, that can't be fully attached either if the metal came loose, and since the mechanism of holding the door closed depends on the chassis being fully screwed in, my UMD door can't close thanks to this and the fact that the door is warped.I'm pissed that I spent money on this and waited close to a month for it to ship from China. Perhaps mine is a particularly bad one but there are too many different problems with it for me to recommend this in any way.

The package came in a fair amount of time. The best part of the package is that the shell itself is pretty. It is really quality, but the downside is that the rest of the package is really cheap and break really easy. The analog stick that comes with this package didn't fit with my analog nub which was a big downer. The directional pad was ok and it seems to be workable but the other input buttons were not great so I used my old ones. The screw driver is just bad, so do yourself a favor and buy one at home depot, I'd recommend a set. The installation wasn't too complex but a beginner would definitely struggle. So if you like puzzles, this is for you.
