Works well. It has a locking lever that will not allow it to open accidentally. Just squeeze the lever and pull.

Latch really holds tight and adjusts to changes
My latch is installed on a loft door on a shed that tends to settle. It changes the fit of the door in the frame but this latch doesn't have to be reinstalled to adapt to those changes. It holds that door down tightly and it can be padlocked too.

Got hot and melted too my fingers
Looked great on smoker. Door was perfectly sealed. Worked great until winter and I put the insulator cover on for a christmas brisket. Grabbed the latches to check meat and had red plastic sizzling on my finger tips. The snow cooled the plastic and then it took days to peel off from my charred finger tips.
