It seems to be made with good quality materials and is durable. Provided enough zip ties. However, it's annoying that its height is less than 3 feet. Most balconies are much taller than 3 feet. Doesn't make sense that this net (and other nets in Amazon) is made to be less than 3 feet. Makes the balcony area look ugly and leaves the top part exposed and unsafe. Would give it more stars if the height was more in line the general height of balconies.Update: one of the strings disintegrated under the sun, so be wary of using the strings outdoors.

This item is fantastic!!! Both for children and pets. I used the plastic ties instead of all the rope. It is very safe and love this product. I also used this on my wrought iron railing as well. Use this with wood as well. Just fantastic!!

This safety net far exceeded our expectations. The net’s tightly weaved construction prevented our young grandchildren from being able to put their fingers through the netting in order to climb over this safety barrier. The fabric is very strong and easily supported the weight of our 18 month old grandchildren. Setup was rather easy, but we found two sets of hands make the installation go much faster.

We used these for child-proofing a staircase with really large holes (no spindles / rails from the bannister to the floor) and it worked great. We were worried that it wouldn't be strong enough to cover the large gap but once you use the cable ties to get it nice and tight it worked great and seems very secure. We tried three different brands of the mesh / protectors from Amazon and all worked fine. This was the thickest and most plastic-y, which worked well for the large gaps. Roving Cove was more of a strengthened fabric rather than plastic, so more flexible but harder to get really tight. But overall a good product.

I use this net to keep my Doberman out of the bay window. Works great

We purchased this protective balcony net for our 2nd floor outdoor balcony to keep our 7 month old from sticking his arms and legs through the slats of the railing. While it isn't wide enough to go around our whole balcony it was easy to install (you can use zip ties or string that come with the product) and was up in approx. 10 min, ready for our little one to go outside. We'll be purchasing another one to make our balcony completely safe but would recommend to anyone looking to use this product for similar purpose.

I have an older cat that needed to be confined upstairs. I used this along the railing so she wouldn't jump down on the stairs between the spindles. It took a little configuring but it came with both white zip ties and white strings to attach to whatever you need to. It looks good since my railings are white and the netting is white. So far so good and my kitty is safe while I'm at work.

I have an open rail on my second floor. I used it to cover to baby proof it. Looks good.
