VenTech VT IF6+CF6-B Inline Exhaust Blower Fan with Carbon Filter and Variable Speed Controller, 440 CFM, 6" and VT DUCT-6 VTD625 Aluminum Duct for Ventilation Ducting, 6'' bundle

I keep having to return the unit, test then get another and try again. The majority of the units hum at low speed at medium speed the hum gets cancelled from the air flow. The sound is like a bad ballast. If you slept above it you would go crazy from the sound at a low/med speed. If this could be fixed it would be a great product if not for the bearing issue others have posted. I think the rheostat and the motor are not matched properly. Something is not right. I'm on my 5th unit I ordered directly from the vendor. Also the outer flange as shown on ebay is different. Ebay shows a doubled flange as well as Ventech's site. The owner says Amazon flips the fan around and shows a single flange. I spoke with the owner and he says the latest model is the single flange on each side. Then why does the site show the double flange with what I was told was the new bracket for which I am now told by the vendor is actually the older model. I am now told the new bracket is blue which b4 when talking to one of the employees there was the older bracket. Half my hair is gone, from pulling it out and I still hear the hum... I think I need a vacation.

Fan died just after 6 months of receipt...It was used for a few months then it started rattling, and the bearings were shot. Fortunately there was a one year warranty for a replacement, and I hope this was just a fluke. Customer service was very useful in explaining the fan to me, why it might have gone so early. The filter and controller are perfect!

I already had a ventech fan controller and needed another fan, I already tried the ipowerfan and filter setup with no issues but wanted a complete package with controller, so I got this one and the controller wouldn't work on the supplied fan, so I tried my other ventech controller I had already purchased and been using, it wouldn't control the fan speed either, so fan must have had malfunction or was a digital fan and not controllable with a controller which would make no sense to sell as a complete package, also after tried my already purchased controller on this fan it stopped working as well so not sure if fan was defective or just crap stuff, I returned all items from ventech as they didn't work correctly and were defective.

Seems to be a good fan for the price. Don't expect it to be perfect tho. It feels as if it moves 440cfm and the controller works great for it, you can dim the fan down all the way but once you put the filter on the dimmer control will be pointless as you can't dim it down to 35% (lowest setting) instead you can only dim it to about the middle of medium instead so about 60-70% and it will also make a buzzing noise that will annoy you since the fan is struggling to pull air through the filter. If you plan to wall mount this be ready to support the fan with a cable or something as the mount is weak where it bolts to the fan. So it's good if you're in a pinch or just starting off but you will be upgrading in the near future.

Awesome package deal, the carbon filter takes away the Flowering smell great no complaints. The fan is real strong and we'll built. No issues running 24/7. Delivery was fast and the packaging was great no damage. Had to call the seller they didn't send the veritable controller with the order but they shipped it right out no issues. It doesn't come with any ducting so be sure to get 6" flex ducting and hose clamps. Don't know what the white thing is in the picture, I think it's cheap dryer ducting but I didn't receive it anyways. ....not in the picture but the filter also came with a blanket that wraps around it for even more filtration.

Good deal and nice fan and filter out of the box... Was amazed by how quiet the fan was compared to my vortexs... Three days in though it started making so much noise and hasn't stopped... I'm assuming I'm having the same issue as others and the bearings failed right away... Gonna try to make it work cause I need the fan to keep the heat down... I think buying this fan is like playing Russian roulette... You might get one that works... But you'll prolly just end up w a broken fan... Filter is working well so far but is very lightweight and small compared to any other carbon filter I've ever owned... It's nice to move around more easily but it being so light probably means it has less carbon in it then most... My 6" phresh filter weighs at least double what this one does... My filter also came w the carbon not packed right and the metal that keeps it in place wasn't even so I had to hammer it and snip the metal the whole way around so I could get the fan to sit evenly on the filter... Good deal but trust me you get what you pay for

Fan has a high pitched squeal when not on full, once I turn it to between med and hi. This is not working to remove smell. My local grow store only carries hi grade filters starting at > $200. There is a reason you pay more, I now have a good fan and cntrl 'er but still need a good filter. Amazon does have the K100 or K175 filter that really works due to carbon content. You are paying the "Can 100 filter" for an amount of carbon . This filter does not have enough carbon for 2 large plants in flowering stage . This is like buying a $30 duct booster fan to cool your 1000watt HPS light. But it's your money.

I had high hopes in the beginning, everything seemed to work great. Had a strong fairly quiet air flow that cleared strong odors from my hydro garden. After 3 1/2 months of operation the fan started making noise, a week later it was extremely noisy and now vibrating so bad it could be heard and felt 2 rooms away. The fan was mounted to joists by its mounting plate that is fairly heavy metal but is attached to the fan by 2 rather flimsy screws threaded into the thin case of the fan, a bolt and nut would be far superior. I am awaiting a replacement unit; we will see how that one works out.

Amazing for the price, the shipping was nice and fast with great solid packaging. The fan is a bit loud but this is a known for this product. Adding a simple speed controller really drops the decibels.

bigger is better but work if in air tight room
