My son loves this show. He is really enjoying his Yokai Watch. Especially since it comes with two of his favorite characters for the medallions.

Cool Yokai Kids Watch
I purchased this for my friends son who is totaly mad on these things, they were struggling to find one in the shops. Im not too familiar with the TV show but the packaging states that you can experience the world of Yo-kai Watch with the "Yo-kai Watch" and Medals. My firends so sat and told me that on the cartoon you can summon summon the Yo-kai "imaginary characters", and when he used the medals with watch it played different sounds, some music, and spoke a few phrases. All he had to was to put one of the medals which had a picture of a Yo-kai on it, into the watch, you then get to hear the character's name, a tribal song and a few more sounds, he thought this was awesome. This box contains:The Yo-kai WatchTwo Yo-kai MedalsInstruction BookletBatteries Included ( 3 x 1.5v A76 Alkaline)He told me that you can but and collect more medals each with it's own character. And now he could pretend to be just lke the kid on the show lol, to say he loves this is an understatementSafety Warning: The box states that this is only suitable for kids aged 4 and up.Pro'sApp available for Apple and Android devices (scan medals to play app)You can buy more medals to further enhance playCurrently 44 medals available (over 100 recognised by the watch)More medals are planned for release during December 2016 onwards (check Hasbro website for release dates)Encourages imaginationEasy to use and set upThree types of play (See below for more info)Con'sDoesnt tell the time - A watch to me should, even if it is for kidsDoesnt work with every Apple or android deviceThree ways to play with every Yo-kai Medal:1. Replica of the watch used in the computer game of the same name.
This watch is more suitable for children a bit older than three years. This 'Yo-Kai' watch is based on the popular Japenese computer game of the same name. A complete replica of the one in the game it is not a real watch in as much as it does not tell the time. It detects when the YO-Kai are coming, and you have two medals included in with the watch to start you off. You can purchase more medals separately. The medals fit on the watch face and trigger the name of the song to tell you the name of the particular Yo-Kai and the matching song. You can download the app but you should check the Hasbro website for the list of apps that re suitable. Exactly as it looks in the picture, sturdy well made and really good value for money. If the little one in your life is into the YO-Kai games then this is perfect for them.

Tip of the iceberg – it’s all about collecting the medals
We have to wait until the New Year – January 2017 before being able to access the necessary app through iPhone, iPad, iPod touch. Other phones are listed on the Hasbro website, so check before buying, to see if your mobile can support, enhance and satisfy this gadget. The watch is not a watch as needs to be very clearly understood – it is like a little cd player with plastic discs, ‘medals’ two of which are sold with the toy. There are also the required three 1.5v A76LR44 batteries, supplied, happily. You have to know the pedigree of Yo-Kai to appreciate what the fun it can provide for 4+ old children. I have grandchildren of that generation who will no doubt educate me in the coming months and we will update the review as and when we can get the app.Meanwhile it feels odd to wear a watch that doesn’t even try to tell the time. I wish they had called it something else! Collecting the medals, swapping them and enjoying the different sounds may become an obsession, as bubble gum cards were for me in the 50/60’s…. I can understand the attraction. The plastic wrist strap is massive which is at odds with the age group it is supposed to suit.I am sure that Hasbro know what they re doing with this computer game associated spin off/offspring, I am unfortunately just annoyed by the noise!
