Landove Won Shootout over Celestron & Gosky Terrestrial Spotting Scopes
I compared this 20-60 X 80 Landove to a 20-60 X 80 Gosky and a smaller Celestron 12-36 X 60 and the Landove won handily for my needs. The much lower priced, more portable Celestron delivered reasonably good sharp images which only degraded slightly at higher powers as did the Landove. However, the apparent image size of the Landove 20-60 X 80 (and the Gosky) at its lowest magnification at 20X actually seemed larger and of course clearer/sharper/brighter than the Celestron at it highest of 36X Mag. Also, the Tripod with the Celestron was terrible, almost worthless. You would have to aim way above what you are looking at and set the control knowing the scope would fall dramatically more before hopefully coming close to the image you want to view. This Celestron scope absolutely needs a better tripod as the table top tripod that comes with it is barely usable - especially when trying to adjust at a higher powers. The Landove Tripod was steady and worked well. Also, the 20-60 X 80 Landove allows you to focus about 10 feet or so closer than the Celestron at near objects (about 20 Ft) and its tripod works well and locks in place well and does not keep vibrating at the slightest touch up and down like the fidgety tripod with the Gosky or fall like the Celestron tripod as mentioned. The Celestron is about 11" long compared to the Landove and Gosky 20-60 X 80 at 17".The Landove seemed to also offer noticeably clearer optics than the Gosky 20-60 X 80 and has the best tripod of the three. For the difference in price of about $50 more over the lower powered budget Celestron (remember you need to add at least $25 for a new table tripod with the Celestron) if the larger size is not a problem, I think the Landove 20-60 X 80 is a clear winner. So, for budget scopes, I strongly recommend that you spend the little bit of extra money and buy the more powerful Landove. Its hard to imagine a more expensive scope doing all that much better than the Landove for most uses. In all fairness to the often highly rated Gosky, I may have gotten a defective scope which is being send back as the magnification collar spun all around as if not connected properly and it did not focus as clearly as the Landove.Of the three, the Landove is a recommended keeper. I am looking forward to trying some digital photography with the included cell phone adapter.

Thrilled with the value for money.
Ordered this scope on a whim to see if the optical quality was better than that of my 30 year old Tasco telescope to view Jupiter and it's moons and Saturn. In short, it has exceeded my expectations in more than just clarity. The scope comes with a nice lens cover for both the objective lens and eyepiece, and a fairly rugged tripod. The cellphone adapter is a little cheap, but it works, and the bag leaves a lot to be desired, BUT, the scope itself makes up for these small issues. The focus knob is has a very fine and smooth adjustment, much better than the course focus on my old telescope, and makes it easy to focus in on distant objects, including planets. The pictures I've taken are with an Iphone SE using the supplied phone adapter. They are not representative of the image quality I see through the scope with my eye, which is much crisper and clearer than the pictures represent. One thing to consider, however, is that if you plan on using this to view a full moon, you will need some sort of light filter to cut down on the brightness, I believe there are plenty of options that slip over the objective lens, and would be a good idea to have if you plan on using it for that purpose.I can highly recommend this scope if you're on a budget and still want something that works and works well.

Decent quality optic for the price
I rated this Landove 20-60x80 scope 4 stars for the quality of product and a low price. I was not expecting the optics to be superb based on the price, but decided to try this first before spending $500+ on higher rated scopes. I am not disappointed in the product lens sharpness. While the photos from the scope and phone attachment are adequate, they will not replace my DSLR and telephoto for close up photos of birds and wildlife. That said, I have used to scope to spot people and wildlife on the mountains several miles distant. I also use a full size tripod for enhanced stability.Order, shipping, and delivery was very fast.

Review for shooters and comparison to two other models
This is the third scope in this price ranged that I have purchased. The first was the Gosky 20-60 x 80. The Gosky seems to be the exact same scope as the Landove with only different labeling. I liked the Gosky alot except for the 45 degree eyepiece. On the shooting bench, this requires standing up and then leaning over the scope to view. This can be a little tiring. I returned the Gosky for only that reason. The image was very good. Next I bought the Celestron Ultima 80 with a straight eyepiece. The image on this scope was terrible. I could never get it quite focused. I also hated how long it was. Finally, it did not come with a tripod and had no room for it in the carrying case. I returned the Celestron thinking I would reorder the Gosky, but alas, it was on back order. I looked around and found the Landove (again appears to be the same scope) for abut $30 less, so I bought it.Here is my review of the Landove: Shooting .223 at 100 yards (partially cloudy weather) I could easily see the hits on a black and white paper target (not splatter). At 200 yards using a green paper target (not splatter) I could see the hits at full magnification without difficulty. This completely meets my needs for a scope. Regarding the tripod it is perfectly usable. I had to be a little careful at 200 yards so that I didn't bump it, but I would say it works fine, and the beauty of this tripod is that it fits right in the case.I tried using the cellphone holder with my iPhone 8. The image is smaller and less clear than what you see with your eye. Not really usable at 100 yards but at about 25 yards you can get a decent picture of birds, etc.In summary, I don't thing you could do much better than this scope for under $200.

Completely satisfied/would shop again
This scope has met my expectations for general purpose distance viewing. I researched many other scopes at higher prices and found that this scope was worth the chance. There’s not much information online about this company nor many reviews on this scope. Every scope on the market said the same things and listed the same parameters. Costs seemed to be more with well know names. I kept in mind that every brand name company had to start somewhere. So I hope this review will get things started. This was shipped to Canada with no surprise custom or duty costs. It arrived on time within a reasonable time frame. It was well packaged and had no defects upon opening. The scope itself has a solid feeling if that makes sense. Not made of cheap material. All moving parts move smoothly and are tight enough to move in small increments but loose enough to make fine adjustments. It comes with two (rubber) cap covers that are tight fitting which is great compared to other cheap plastic caps that never stay on.Others have posted that the tripod is “cheap”. It is solid enough that I have no concern about it carrying the weight of the scope. I can see that if you were rough and pressed down on the tripod that it may deform a leg. I can’t imagine that this would happen with general use. The scope connects easily. The locking/adjustment function is smooth and does allow fine tweaking. Keep in mind that this is a table top tripod. It’s designed for laying / sitting on the ground with the scope or placing it on a hard surface like a picnic table. Of course the tripod isn’t mandatory for using the scope. The scopes weight can be managed by hand. Although long periods of time may give your forearms a workout. There is a coated lens / anti fogging coating of some sort. I’ve been able to go from an warm inside temperature to outside Canadian winter with no fogging. I would not suggest doing this with any scope, camera or telescope if possible. Best practice, if you’re going from one extreme to another is to let your scope acclimated to the temperature you’re viewing in for an extended time before use.Now let’s talk about the actual viewing and magnification. The scope has x 20 ,x40 & x60. Switching power is by turning a swivel at the eye piece. It turns smoothly. The focus swivel is easy to find while your eye is pressed to the lens. Again it turns smoothly. It’s hard to put into words how the viewing works or looks. See the attached photo. It speaks volumes. I viewed a communication tower at 2.5 km / 1.55 miles away and could count the rungs on the ladder of the tower. That being said, using the smart phone / camera adapter only increases the power. It’s great at this distance with the naked eye but I was amazed what was achieved with connecting my phone and zooming in with the camera. Check out my photo. The smart phone adapter is made of plastic. It is sturdy. It’s easy to use and connects snuggly to the scope. My iPhone 10 with an OtterBox is heavy and very bulky in size. The adapter fits it with no problem. The adapter stays connected to the scope with no problem considering the weight.A carrying case comes with the scope. It is a zipper close. It fits the scope, tripod and adapter with no problem. There’s room left if you needed at bring along some other small items. My only suggestions for improvement or future attachments would be considering producing lens filters. There are no filters available through the supplier (that I could find or that customer service could offer me) There are third party filters available or YouTube videos to show you how to make your own.I did contact customer service in reference to the above filters via email. My two exchanges with two separate people were not initially favourable in my opinion. I was contacted be a service representative named Alan shortly after. It appeared that the issue was simply due to a language barrier. Alan was able to speak to my questions and apologized for any miscommunications. This was absolutely satisfactory and resolved the issues. Subsequently, due to the company celebrating its 5 year anniversary I was sent a surprise thank you gift. I wish I could review this product as well. It met my expectations. In the end I would obviously completely suggest purchasing this scope. I would not hesitate making other purchases of products through this company.

Good quality spotting scope for the price.
This is a good quality scope for the price. My only regret is that there was a newer higher quality model of this scope with dual focuser and wider diameter eye piece and more lense elements for only a little bit more. I only found this model after I purchased this one. The newer model was not available a few days later either. My advice is grab this scope if you can't get the newer model or the newer model price goes up a lot.Update:I took the scope out tonight and spotted the planet Saturn. The rings of Saturn were clearly visible. For such an in expensive achromatic refractor the colour and spherical aberration was well controlled. Focus was not difficult to reach for Saturn. Also Saturn was clear from edge to edge of the field of view. I also was able to see Jupiter with clear banding on the planet. The 4 Galileon moons were also in sharp focus. I saw some minor blue fringing on Jupiter at 60x magnification, but was very good control of colour aberration for this price range. This is not an apochromatic refractor with ED elements (would cost a lot more), but for the price it is a good achromatic refractor. Would love to compare this with the newer model with more lens elements and dual focuser.
