Least bulky design
I bought this for use with my inguinal hernia about a year ago. It has worked very well and because I don't want the surgery, I bought a 2nd one after a year. It has held up extremely well and now I can wash it and have a spare on hand so I don't have to wash right away... I wear it daily and can lead a normal life while doing everything I did before the hernia. I have often forgotten in was on and slept with it on! I workout at a gym doing strength training and run about 10 miles a week on an elliptical treadmill. I have kept my inguinal hernia contained (don't allow it to pop out) with this truss, and along with strength training hernia exercises, it's very well possible to heal the damaged muscles of your hernia - I did! I haven't worn the truss at all in the past 4 months and the hernia has completely disappeared. I continue to do inguinal hernia exercises today to maintain strong muscle tissue and prevent another hernia.

Gave me back mobility
My hernia, acquired years ago, had finally progressed to the point that my ability to live a normal life of mobility was severely impaired — surgery was now necessary. Merely walking around was becoming impossible. Surgery was scheduled, but there was to be a month-and-a-half delay. I had heard of trusses, but had no real knowledge of them, so I got online and found this one. Not knowing if a truss would really help or not, but at that point being willing to try anything that didn’t sound too goofy, I ordered it. It has been a godsend. While it obviously doesn’t cure the hernia — only surgery will do that — it does a very effective job of containing my intestines within their proper area, which has made it possible for me to resume a great deal of my normal activities. NOTE: the truss as offered has a design defect, which was fairly easy to correct, and I hope the manufacturer will incorporate the correction into future offerings. The nature of the truss is that it applies pressure to your abdomen in order to prevent your intestines from popping out through the torn abdominal membrane. But this pressure is necessarily UP and IN, which tends to push the truss down and off of you, making the truss largely useless and damned irritating to wear as it tries to crawl down your legs. This problem was solved by adding elastic suspenders to the truss, thus letting my shoulders hold the truss in place and maintain pressure on my abdomen. Thank you for a good and well-built product, and with the above-mentioned improvement you will have an unqualified winner.

Bulging pads are not good for a hernia and then there's the other thing.
As soon as I unrolled this hernia support I knew it was going to be a problem. The pad that goes over the hernia is WAY too fat. It bulges out and is not just uncomfortable to wear but is dangerous because it pushes in against the weak tissue around the place where the soft tissue of the intestine is pushing out. And that can easily make the hernia worse. What I wanted was a nice soft, but firm, flat pad to keep the intestine from peeking out but would not stress the tissues around the hernia. And then there's the other thing. For some strange reason they put the break in the belt so the velcro is right smack in the middle of the back. It's kind of a yoga exercise to get it adjusted and placed exactly right with both hands behind your back. Actually, after ordering this support my wonderful wife made one and the one she made has a flat fuzzy pad and the velcro belt fastens in the front of the right hip. Easy to put on, comfortable, and it works a treat. When the ORTONYX Inguinal Groin Hernia Truss Support Belt - Left Beige arrived from Amazon I was really disappointed. My wife is going to remove the bulging pad and replace it with a nice flat one for me. And I'll just have to get her to adjust it just right and fasten it for me. Then I can remove it and keep the belt fastened in that spot.

Definitely not one size fits all.
Gave my husband a rash. Threads looked terribly worn after only two weeks. Not really “one size fits all” and strap was too short. Would NOT buy again.
