Awesome handheld
This handheld console can play many different games from many different consoles. It's super comfortable to hold and lightweight to be able to play for a while at a time. The screen size is just right, super clear, and small enough to pretty comfortably fit in a pocket. The buttons work great, but the shoulder buttons are a little clicky for me.The battery life is pretty great, depending on the games you want to play. I've been able to play Gameboy Advance, N64, SNES, and even PSP games on it without any issues so far. Lower quality games don't use a lot of power though, so you can get a lot of playtime just playing Gameboy games. It's also very customizable. I installed a different operating system on it, which was pretty easy to do and installed plenty of games on it with lots of space left on the 64gb SD card that it comes with. The included charging cable is nice, but a little short. It uses USB-C so I've been able to use one of my longer cables with it. Overall, super great purchase and I know I'll get a lot of use out of it!

Awesome little device
Working great for it’s intended purpose. It came with a kioxia (spelling) card with a pretty good operating system and a lot of oldddd games like a few thousand but nothing terribly interesting. I got a new card and installed knulli which is a nicer looking operating system and has many options for tweeking everything but definitely took a hit on battery life. Device works pretty good with DC and PSP but not every game. PSX, SFC, FC, SG, And all the older consoles work perfectly. Thumbsticks work fine and placement is pretty good (I actually use them a lot). The screen is very clear, bright and a reasonable size. Overall this is a great product and I think certainly worth the price. If you want all the blockbuster games be ready to do lots of investigating as well as tinkering with a computer.

A Modder's Toy with a Catch — Great, Once You Get It Right.
If you’re looking at the RG40XX H Retro Handheld Game Console, chances are you’re either (A) a retro game enthusiast, or (B) a curious tech tinkerer like me. I fall into the second camp — I bought this device specifically to mess with it, flash better firmware, and see what it’s capable of. And let me tell you: it’s a fun ride, but not without a few bumps.Let’s start with the unboxing. The device is gorgeous — sleek, minimalist, and exactly what I want from a budget-friendly handheld. It’s the kind of “bare bones” I admire: simple, clean, and functional. Eye candy for the retro-soul.Now here’s where it gets real. The first unit I received gave me trouble right out of the box. It would hang at the boot logo, sometimes wouldn’t charge properly, and often just sat there doing absolutely nothing. No games, no system boot — just vibes. Turns out the included memory card was probably corrupted or improperly flashed, and here’s a word of advice to anyone new to devices like these: do NOT mess with the SD card unless you really know what you’re doing.Once you start pulling out the card or swapping files without a backup or flashing know-how, you're asking for a silent black screen of doom. I learned the hard way — but honestly, I wanted that challenge. That’s half the fun for me.Luckily, I contacted the seller, and they were super responsive. They sent me a replacement unit, no fuss. The second one? Worked perfectly. Booted right up, games were running smooth, and I could finally start exploring what this little machine can do.Pros:1. Beautiful minimalist design.2. Great price point.3. Fun to tinker with (if you’re into that sort of thing)4. Responsive seller supportCons:1. Quality control on the SD card seems hit-or-miss2. Not very user-friendly for people who just want to plug and play3. The system requires the SD card to be properly inserted — remove or corrupt it and it won’t boot at all.If you're buying this to play retro games and nothing more — leave the SD card exactly as it is. Don’t change anything, don’t reformat, just enjoy it. If you’re into modding and know your way around custom firmware, this is a great playground… just be prepared to troubleshoot and possibly replace parts.

Easily my favorite Anbernic so far
I own a bitboy and a smaller Anbernic RG35 and this larger version is by far my favorite. If you are going to use an emulator with a controller with a joystick, this is a MUST. I'm finally able to set up N64 games to have a natural feel to them, and the larger screen is so nice. It does so well with SNES and Gameboy Advance games too. I'm really impressed with the quality on the LEDs, and retroarch has really come a long way. You can basically customize anything. The battery life is great. I'm just all about this console. You really won't be disappointed. The only downside I can think of is that you can't shove this in your pocket because of the joysticks, but you can get a light-weight glasses case to protect things.

Great value for the price.
I’ve seen some negative reviews about this console, but personally that hasn’t been the case with mine. The screen is very colorful, battery life has been great, all the game that I’ve thrown at it work flawlessly. The build quality is very good, and the screen viewing angles are also very good. I was expecting something of a low quality plastic since it was priced under $100, but it’s actually pretty solid.

The provided SD Card breaks the device!
The big thing that I saw when ordering, was a warning that the RG40XX H was an often returned item!Once I got mine, I found out why!The trash Micro SD Card that comes with the device kept my handheld from even turning on!Luckily, I knew how to Flash an operating system on a GOOD SD card...But if someone bought the device and didn't know how to fix that issue?Well, it's no wonder you're getting a lot of them returned! The SD Card is corrupted before you ever even turn on the darn thing!

Game Variety
Looks like the picture. Not really what i was expecting. Probably 5 or 6 actual good games. Thought this would be a good alternate to a Nintendo switch for my son. Having so many options for games. Doesn’t hold a charge long and some buttons don't even work.
