I'm 76 and I've been riding bikes since I was a kid. I've owned pretty much every brand that was worth its salt, and in the 1990s I bought my first and only Specialized Bike - a HardRock Comp FS. I still ride it to this day. In 2018 I bought a Lectric XP V1 and put about 9000 miles on it. I sold it recently to buy a pair of ebikes, one for me and one for my wife. I chose the VEFREEDOM VELECTRIC 26" step through - a black one for me and a white one for my #bestie. It took me about two hours each to get them out of the box and running. They were very easy to put together using the helpful YouTube video. What surprised me was the quality of the engineering! This is a well-engineered, well-built bike. Compared to a Chinese-made bike of the 90s era, it's like night and day. All the parts I needed were included. Screws were stainless steel and threads were perfectly cut. Each piece fit and bolted down on the first try. You'll need a bit of help when you mount the front wheel. I have a winch in my garage and used it to lift and lower the front forks onto the wheel. It's about 10 pounds lighter than my Lectric XP, and taking out the battery reduces the weight enough to make it liftable, even for an old coot like me. I wasn't sure about the stock saddle, since it had the "women's" shape, but it worked fine, and make for a comfortable ride. I've put about 50 miles worth of testing on each bike and haven't had any problems. 50 miles using PAS 1 drew the battery down to about half. I had an old 4X6 trailer to which I added some enhancements to tow the bikes with our Kia Sportage Hybrid. We are very happy with the purchase and would recommend this particular model to anyone starting their ebike journey.

Update again - after receiving the manual with instructions to adjust settings in the display - I thought I would share the instructions for everyone. For some reason (I think it is the magnet placement, but haven't been able to figure that out 100% yet) to achieve the correct MPH on your display, you need to adjust the wheel size setting to 20" I downloaded a free MPH GPS app to verify correct MPH while cycling. Use the power console buttons pushing both +/- at same time until the display changes to the settings mode. Use the (i) button to cycle through the setting until the 27" appears (04P) at the bottom. Use the (-) button to adjust to a 20" tire size. To complete setting push (i) again to set. Long press (i) again to exit settings menu. You should now be viewing your correct MPH as you cycle.Delivered before estimated date, took two of us about 2 hours to assemble, video was very helpful to see the stages. Very attractive looking, had all the features we were looking for - honestly we haven’t taken it on the road yet, will report back riding -update - been on thy three rides now, as a first time e-bike user it was easy to figure out how the gears and throttle work. I don’t think the MPH is accurate, I emailed the bike support but have not heard back, I think there is an adjustment you can make for that, taking off one star for that.Update - I was finally able to reach the vendor by email and receive the bike support manual. I'm upgrading my review to 5 stars once again - Thank you for the contact and info. I do LOVE the bike and I'm very happy with it.

The bike was fairly easy to assemble and good sized. I’m 6 foot four 250 pounds and I am not too big for the bike. The only thing I dislike is the wheel and chain guards are some flimsy plastic and they came warped, but I think that I can get them to reshape fairly easy

Took advantage of the Amazon $100 off discount! Delivered way earlier than expected. Apparently it was being shipped only an hour away from here. And, I'm glad, cause the weather is perfect today. Assembly was simple. It took me about 45 minutes to unbox and put together. Test drove it in the school parking lot. Good thing I did. I had to make adjustments and I highly recommend TEST DRIVING first!!The brakes were not really good at first. In fact almost non-existent!! But, thankfully I just had to make the simple adjustment of tightening the brake line. I also adjusted the front fork alignment. Front and rear lights worked. Seat is very comfortable.Once all those adjustments were made, I turned it on and rode around the lot for about 1/2 hour. Then I took it our on a short 7 mile ride. Bike is better than I thought!! It easily handled the steep hills. The brakes worked very well. (Good thing I tested the bikes earlier!) Shifting gears was smooth and the 5 PAS levels worked perfect.I know it's only one ride, but I believe I made the right choice of E-Bike!

The bike came mostly assembled and after watching a YouTube video on how to put it together, it was simple to finish assembling. The battery didn’t latch in place on the frame at first, but after playing with the release with the key, it finally locked into place. It rides smooth and the electric assist makes riding very enjoyable. This was a great purchase as I was considering buying another brand e-bike for more than twice the cost.

I love this thing (mostly). It's a blast to ride goes plenty fast not quiet as fast as.advertised with me on it but plenty good enough. Went together well looks great paint.is nice. ((( my only real complaint is the attempt at a rack on the back seems incomplete...there is no way too secure anything on it.

Very easy to put together. Had to watch the video and look at the book but it was so easy. When we put the second bike together we did it even faster. We went in a bike ride and okayed with all the “gadgets” until we figured it out. So much fun! We got it up to 25 mph. Highly recommend!
