Im very picky when it comes to my back packs.My backpack of the last 7 years finally tore and I was forced to replace it.I wanted to try a new brand as the last brand I used, doesn't have the same quality as it used to.This north face bag was on sale so I figured I would give it a try as I liked the color.Once I got the bag I was surprised on how well the color, size and padding was to the bag. It doesnt give me back pains, sits on my shoulders just right and the ease of use of the different compartments fit my needs.I do not use this for hiking but for everyday use to carrying my laptop, iPad and other items to and from work.I would highly recommend this bag to anyone that has back problems or needs a bad with multiple different compartments. I thought it was great value for the money spent on the item.I might get a second one for travel in a different color. 10/10

I’ve been using this backpack for a few weeks now, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best backpacks I’ve owned.First off, the build quality is exceptional—you can feel the durability the moment you pick it up. The stitching is solid, the zippers are smooth, and the material feels like it can handle anything from daily commutes to weekend hikes.The laptop compartment is well-padded, easily fitting my 15-inch laptop with room to spare. What I love most is how organized the layout is—there are dedicated compartments for everything: your phone, cables, pens, water bottles (yes, two side pockets!), and even a fleece-lined pocket for sunglasses or electronics.Comfort-wise, it’s top-tier. The FlexVent suspension system and padded mesh back panel make it super comfortable to wear, even when it’s fully loaded. Whether I’m biking, walking, or standing on a crowded train, this backpack stays comfortable and balanced.It also holds more than it looks—plenty of space for gym gear, groceries, or a weekend’s worth of clothes, without ever feeling bulky.

If you're using this as a simple EDC bag for a laptop, its pretty good. It fits a 15 inch laptop just fine. The durability would work if you're probably not putting it through the ringer. My commute really isn't too demanding, but for what it is, this bag is perfect. Enough room for a small jacket or hoodie and a lunch bag if you pack it right. I'd say its worth the money and the build quality is pretty strong. And I think it looks pretty good without being TOO tactical, and more urban cool, even with a name like RECON.

I couldn’t be happier with my North Face Recon backpack. I use it daily for work and travel, and it’s hands-down one of the best backpacks I’ve owned.The laptop compartment is well-padded and fits my 15” laptop perfectly. There’s also plenty of space in the main compartment for books, clothes, or gear, plus a ton of smartly placed pockets to keep everything organized. The front pocket is great for quick-access items, and the fleece-lined pocket is perfect for sunglasses or a phone.The best part? It’s incredibly comfortable to wear, even when fully loaded. The padded straps and back panel provide great support, and the sternum strap helps with weight distribution. It also feels super durable—classic North Face quality.If you need a reliable, versatile backpack that looks good and performs even better, this is it. Highly recommend!

Very nice the north face logo is very white and a little confusing because of all of the pockets but it’s very nice to have all of them. It’s very good quality and very durable. Pretty light weight. Definitely worth it

I think north face makes some of the best back packs. The number of convenient pockets for your carry on items, to the space they have for your computer or laptop is cleverly put together. There are convenient pockets everywhere on this bag. And above all it is a very attractive looking bag. Whether you use it for hiking, traveling, or using it for school - it should be the top of everyone's shopping list. If i had one complaint it would be that they come up with better colors that might serve people with more conservative tastes. Some of the color combination that they have are just downright ugly, but i guess they have to offer a wide range for people (who don't have good taste in colors). ;)

I love this backpack for school, the gym, the outdoors—basically everything. It works perfectly and I totally recommend it. Super comfortable to wear and definitely worth the price. The zippers work great, though I’d suggest tying them again for extra security. It’s really durable, especially for carrying your laptop or other electronics thanks to the hard-shell interior. Also gives great back support. Solid all-around bag! Plenty of pockets
