Prophetic, ground breaking
If you look for some code snippet to copy and paste into your project, don't waste your time and money. I think even those occasional references to specific technologies is unwarranted. On the other hand, if you are looking at how approach and govern API to enable SOA in your enterprise, this is a book for you.I think Netflix implementation of private/public API is the road to the future. As such, Daniel Jacobson's book who implemented web API in NPR and Netflix is a gem.

Just words, nothing technical
I'm kinda disappointed with this book. I was expecting something more technical, something that would describes technical strategies for the development of APIs. On the contrary this books simply tells you, in 140 pages, that if you want to be a successful company you need to use/build your own APIs and that they represent an interface between the user and the provider.
