This beehive is terrific and I highly recommend purchasing this product. I received it in a timely fashion and assembled it right away. It went together easily and all of the pieces were accurate and fit like a glove! Additionally, it’s really attractive. I have high hopes that this one will be the jewel of the apiary!!

Long story short, I needed it on short notice as I captured a swarm that came from one of my other colonies. I didn't see that event coming so I needed it quick and on the cheap, and it did not disappoint! For being so low priced, it was well made and the wax coating is smooth and even. All nails and screws were included, instructions not necessary as it couldn't be simpler. Being cedar wood should make it last longer and theoretically should repel pests like moths and beetles. The bees get along inside just fine and I plan on purchasing two more in the spring. No complaints here.

Very high quality construction. Tight dovetail construction for easy assembly. Nice heavy coat of beeswax on outer surfaces. I'm a Quality Engineer and highly recommend this product.

Instructions do suck. And there appears to be no website for novices like me.

Overall this kit is a good kit. I have been raising bees for 11 years now and am switching from 10 frame hives to 8 frame this year (2025) due to the weight of the supers and a bad back. I use the deep and medium boxes all year for the brood nest and shallow honey supers which I haven't found on Amazon yet. I ordered 2 of these kits to try them out. I will be ordering more and I do recommend them. However I did run in to 2 issues worth mentioning. First, the boxes didn't want to go together exactly square but not off enough to effect anything. Second, I am not convinced they are coated in "Beeswax". I could smell fresh cut wood but no scent of beeswax and if I scratched a little wax off it looks more like paraffin wax. I'm not totally sure but whatever it is the bees don't seem bothered by it.A little side note: the frame foundations are plastic and not wax but that isn't an issue for me since I don't use foundation. So I'll toss those pieces. I'm a little old school and don't believe using foundation is of any benefit to the bees. 2 main reasons for that are the cell starters stamped on the foundation are usually bigger cells than what the bees would build on their own which leads to less healthy bees and the other is that the younger adult bees produce a lot of wax naturally and it is better to give them plenty of room to use that wax. But that is a personal opinion based on a decade of raising bees.

Good solid constriction of bottom board and cover. Both are made with one solid piece of wood and not pieces placed together. All boxes fit together and screws were provided. Only down side is the plastic frame insert need to have marks on them like acorn to show top or bottom of frame.

This item was perfect and the bees love it. Easy to put together and very sturdy.
