Great to cook with
Cooks professional is a brand that sells many kitchen items under their retail umbrella. I don't have any other items from them so was interested to see the quality of this pan. Firstly, it was very well packaged and given its weight I was very happy to see that. The pan is heavy so you'll need strong wrists when moving it around. The colour is lovely - obviously inspired by Le Cruset. The pan has a black interior, which I beleive is enamel but it's not as glossy as a Le Cruset Pan but it wasn't an issue. The pan was great to cook with, and I was soon making my first dish. The lid does a great job of keeping moisture in. My only issue, which is possibly the same on any brand, was heat transfer to the handles and lid handle - they got hot so I always needed to use a cloth when opening. The pan is backed with a 25 year warranty if registered so they obviously have faith in it. A good addition to any kitchen.

Good but slight damage.
This cast iron pot from a reputable brand like Cooks Professional is value for money and a real bargain compared to another very famous brand. As expected of a cast iron pot, it is very heavy compared to your standard pots. This pot is 26 cm in diameter, however it is still quite a deep pot, holding 5.8 litres. It looks very smart and I can't fault the quality of the build. It also came well packaged thus ensuring that it reaches you in perfect condition. There a few do's & dont's for using cast iron casserole pots, so it's good to familiarise yourself with those before using one for the first time.Although this casserole pot doesn't require to be seasoned like the traditional cast iron frying pans, nonetheless you've still got to season the rims of the pot and the rims of the lid after the first wash & dry as per the instruction manual.I've used it a couple of times and it cooks well and the food is flavourful. I love that due to its weight, the pot doesn't move around when you are stirring your food.I've also noticed that when you drag this pot across your cooker top, it doesn't make that horrible screeching scratchy noise like some pots due to the under of the pot also being smooth and glossy.Overall I'm quite happy with this casserole pot from Cook's Professional. It's really value for money. However, I've got to sadly drop 2 stars from it due to the "non stick" coating having slightly peeled off on the lid and rim of the pot. Just to confirm, I noticed this as soon as I unboxed it, i.e. BEFORE washing it for the first time. I'm not sure if the guarantee will cover this considering it was sent to me like this.
