Let me compose myself before I begin... *ahem*Guild Wars, the fantastic game of fantasy that has so graced the computer world. Do you want to go on fabulous adventures without hundreds of people getting in your way? Do you want to be the hero and save the day? Do you want a character that is all your own both in look and accomplishment? Here you go!You get to make and maintain 4 different characters when you purchase this game. There are NO monthly fees to participate and updates are done automatically while you play. The world is vast with hundreds (if not thousands) of quests and places to explore. Combat is engaging and fun - there are many different powers and skills to use; which translates into many different ways to overcome the obstacles.The game was designed well and feels alive and interactive. As you progress your character's appearance is very much up to you. You can dye your equipment, customize gear, and have all sorts of neat magical devices. So go and find that sword, dye it red, and put a nice bright gem on the handle - how's that look? The fact that you can manipulate the environment and objects in this fashion, adding your personal taste, makes the game that much better.Performance, Graphics, etc: The visuals in this game are nothing short of eye-candy! With the graphic settings turned all the way up (need a rockin' PC) the world of Guild Wars is breathtaking. I haven't been blown away by a computer-generated natural landscape since I first played Morrowind. The soundtrack and sound effects are top notch - some may get repetitive if you play often but at least they sound good.NOTE: make sure your PC exceeds the minimum requirements by a comfortable margin - this game, though very efficient, is HUGE and BEAUTIFUL: both memory hogs. Update any system drivers, disable any unnecessary background programs, and optimize your system before installing & playing. If you don't have high-speed internet this could be a painful experience: broadband is definitely needed. My recommendation for MINIMUM PC requirements: CPU of 1.0ghz, 512mb RAM, 64mb AGP video card, 24-bit sound, and a Broadband connection. More CPU speed, RAM, and Video memory will boost performance significantly.Check your system, get this game, and get going!

....... that doesn't alienate traditional MMO fans.GWs has won more awards than any other game as far as I know and it deserves EVERY one of them.GW has so many facets that it's easy to understand why it's the #2-* selling and #1 rated game against the Brittney Spears of MMOs, WoW.While WoW was the game that brought a huge influx of gamers to MMOs, GWs is the game that brought a huge influx of intelligent players to MMOs.You won't find Ned Flanders wishing you a 'happy day' here. You won't find the crappy music-score that has become the norm in MMOs. You also won't be plagued by griefers, beggars, nor Asian pharmers SPAMMing all the channels. Almost the entire game is instanced.If you play the game completely solo I as do, you need NEVER be bothered with ANY of the annoyances that are standard in MMOs.The toons in the game are by FAR the most detailed and really gorgeous. I'm a girl-gamer and I'm sick of really butt-ugly short-haired toons. Not a problem with GW. Almost ALL the HUGE array of female toons are drop-dead gorgeous. And with really nice looking LONG hair options. And oh yeah, GWs also offers a lot of really sexy-looking gear for their girl players.The graphics WERE the best in the business prior to the release of Lord of the Rings Online. There are NO silly cartoon characters here. There is NO Disney-scape here. If you prefer more childish cartoon graphics you may not be able to appreciate how beautiful GW is.The epic storyline and instanced crusades are supremely compelling especially because of the way they are implimented. I solo the entire game yet I feel uniquely important to the very excellent and evident storyline.This is a multi-award winning game that charges NO subscription and it's one of only two MMOs currently in release that I would pay-to-play.*Guild Wars is most likely the #1 seller of all MMOs to LEGIT players since pharming doesn't have a market in GW.

This was one of my favorite games when it first came out.

this game is free,unlike others where,you have to pay to upgrade,classic game.
