Looks great! Installation is easy, but calibrating the camera is difficult
We love these lights. They looked so great in our media room, we got a second set for our bedroom TV where they look even better. The media room has dark, gray walls, while the bedroom has white walls that are more reflective. We think that's why they look better in the bedroom. They are easy to install (calibration of the camera is another issue), and there are many YouTube videos on the physical installation. The unit uses a camera that hangs over the top of the TV to control the backlights by sensing what's on the screen. The only downside to this concept is that the *calibration* of the camera is REALLY difficult and the instructions and videos are basically useless on this. We eventually got it right, but it took numerous attempts and was more than a bit frustrating. There's a new version that instead uses HDMI to control the lights that probably would be easier to install since it wouldn't involve calibrating the camera. However, the HDMI version is more expensive and some of the reviews suggest that passing the video signal through an HDMI splitter runs the risk of degrading 8K and 4K signals. Given the additional expense and the risk, I tend to still think that this one is a good deal even given the frustration of getting the camera settings right.

Immersive Lighting That Transforms Our Movie Nights
We recently added the Govee TV Backlight 3 Lite with Fish-Eye Correction Function to our 85" TV, and it's been a game-changer for our family movie nights. Living on a spacious property, we often gather in the evenings to watch films, and this backlight system has significantly enhanced our viewing experience.Installation & Setup:The setup was straightforward. The adhesive strips held firmly to the back of our TV, and the camera mounted securely at the top center. Calibration was intuitive using the Govee Home app, and the fish-eye correction ensured accurate color matching across the screen.Performance:The RGBICW technology delivers vibrant and dynamic lighting that syncs seamlessly with on-screen content. Whether we're watching an action-packed movie or a serene nature documentary, the ambient lighting adjusts in real-time, creating an immersive atmosphere.Smart Features:Integration with Alexa allows us to control the lighting with simple voice commands. Adjusting brightness, changing colors, or turning the system on/off is effortless and adds to the convenience.Durability & Design:The build quality is impressive. The materials feel robust, and the design complements our modern living room setup. The system has been running smoothly without any hiccups.Final Thoughts:This backlight system has elevated our home entertainment setup. It's not just about aesthetics; it's about creating an environment that pulls you into the story. If Govee is looking for real-world testers, especially families who value quality and immersive experiences, we'd be thrilled to provide feedback on future products.

It makes my living room come alive!
It’s Awesome! Everybody I show it to is super impressed and asks how it works. I bought more Govee strip lights for the TV stand and rest of the furniture next to TV and the effect is even more immersive, especially adding a strip to the TV stand! I also have mine at the bottom of the TV as you can see! I watched every review I could find on YouTube between this one and others and this one is the winner for the price! Video games, Animated, and action flashy movies look absolutely amazing! While less flashy content tends to blend more if you turn down saturation on backlight (TV backlight doesn’t adjust for saturation level, just color matching with dimming and brightening) It’s not perfect, sometimes colors are off a bit and a different color might flight for 1 second as you can see in some of the photos. Seems to struggle with orange and light blue sometimes. This is only more noticeable if you have saturation up or you don’t have it calibrated right but, 96%~98% of the time it’s correct.Important tips!1. Mount at bottom if you can, be sure to turn your phone upside down in relation to the set up process, there are Utube videos covering this.3. Get more Govee lights for more immersion! make sure they have WiFi for Alexa to work with backlight. I bought Govee light strips and their light bulbs for the rest of the living room, make sure you get the brighter bulbs for more effect!4. Turn the saturation down 10-20% for standard films as colors can miss match and it’s less distracting for focusing on the story. For video games and using it as a party or regular light you can crank the saturation and brightness!5. Angle the strips out to get more light spread and wall coverage. I found a (Philips hue backlight) 3d file on thingiverse and printed that with my 3d printer! If you don’t have a 3-D printer, I strongly suggest you buy one, but if you don’t, you can figure out a way to angle it if you’re crafty. Also, there was complaints about the adhesive not sticking for some.. this solves that with my own 3m tape on the angled 3d prints.6. Its 2025, Buy a 3D Printer already! Not only can you print mounts for this Govee backlight strips, you can freely print millions of things from tools, command hooks, to car parts. It’s 2025, 3D Printers are cheap only $200 now! You don’t have to know anything about 3-D printing to be able to print these angle backlight mounts in minutes. You just google a 3d file, download it and press print that’s it!! No technical skills required at all. Just be sure you get a Bambu printer because it does everything for you! ( no I’m not affiliated with any company) this is just my Strong recommendation for a Life hack.A couple of tips! I’d give it 5 starts but the apps is confusing but it’s not bad at all if they can update it the light. It has cool scene modes and light tracer effects that go around the tv for some modes. And also the I deducted it because of the rare miss color matching.
