Lobo by Keith Giffen & Alan Grant Vol. 1 (Lobo (1990))

I always thought that Lobo was just DC's version of Marvel's Wolverine. However, where Wolverine is dead serious, Lobo is just hilarious! His first bounty in the book involves him delivering a fellow Czarnian (in fact, it's one from his childhood) to a prison. Alive. This is an especially big problem for him since he thought he'd killed every one of his people, making him The Last Czarnian! At the same time, there are several factions who are planning to make this prisoner transfer as difficult for Lobo as they can. Extremely violent hijinks ensue.I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would! The Wife had given me Vol. 2 for X-mas, so of course I had to get the first one; I had no idea what to expect. I'd only seen him in that short, off-panel fight with Wolverine in "Marvel vs DC" and in a single episode of "Superman: TAS"; both were way off on what Lobo actually is! The comic has a "Heavy Metal" vibe to it. Like, he could've had a segment in the movie and he'd have fit right in. Especially that first story arc. The violence is over the top, and it's... Well, it's hilarious! I really did laugh out loud quite a bit reading through this book.Highly recommended to anyone wanting a funny and violent anti-hero who doesn't shove pop culture references in your face for laughs! 10/10

If you LOVE the Classic Bad Ass Don't Give a FRAG about what Anybody thinks...This is the volume for you.

Bought this at a convention, and after reading the first volume, I was dying to purchase the next volume. Lobo is the first time I could honestly say that I read a comic from start to finish (and was the first comic that made me chuckle). It was a good read.

Great drawings, language was german, not english.

Ennesimo fumetto arrivato rotto rovinato

The book itself was good. But the cover came with a pretty nasty crease in it. Don’t really want to be paying top dollar for a book that’s damaged.

Sangue, morte, nonsense, paródias, mais morte. Um dos melhores personagens já criados, na sua melhor fase. Espero que, futuramente, Lobo de Keith Giffen retorne ao universo DC nas HQs e espero que estúdios cinematográficos tenham a coragem de lançar não só um, mas vários filmes dele. É um personagem que cativa a todos, que não tem frescura, que tem a insanidade como sua marca registrada e que não pode deixar de fora da lista de quadrinhos de qualquer fã ou leitor regular.
