The one thing that you want a soft box to do is to produce soft light and this diffuser does a very good job of that.The diffuser comes in a small bag and its assembly is straightforward enough for you not to need to look at any instructions as long as you remember that it is not square - when you are assembling it, if it doesn't seem to fit then it probably goes on the next side.The joints are entirely Velcro and there are some straps that tension the thing up. The main structure is from solid and clearly metal trapezia that form the sides like a truncated pyramid. Straps go along the back and hold the light in place and then you can put the white diffuser on the front.One thing that will strike you is that all of the structural material is ripstop - that is to say that at regular intervals across the material, there is a thick thread so that if there is a tear, it cannot propagate very easily across the thicker thread. The white diffuser is no exception.Finally, the grid goes in front of the white diffuser so that light is not spilled sideways - effectively making the diffuser into a series of small diffusers, each with its own barn doors. This has the effect that it means that the light from the diffuser is projected within a smaller angle and secondly, light should not be spilling into your camera lens and causing problems there.Unlike the rest of it, the grid is not ripstop and is fairly delicate looking but it is the last thing that you put on it and as long as you are careful, it should last a long time.The resulting light that is produced by the sot box very even as you can see from not only the illumination of the subject but also from how evenly its shadow is cast.This is a good diffuser that is really easy to set up and equally, stores away in a nice, small bag. My only criticism would be the use of Velcro which at some stage, will start to fail from repeated use so if you can, once it is set up, leave it set up.

£46 at time of reviewWhilst this is recommended for the NL660 RGB660 PRO II LED Video Light Panel, I have a Neewer T140-2.4G panel, which is a little larger than the one this is designed for, but it fitted it pretty well too, so Im happy with that. This takes about 5 mins to set up, easier if your panel is already on a stand. Whilst the panel already has very good diffusion even without a diffuser, adding this and the honeycomb allows me to remove any over spill and get a really lovely soft light. Of course this is still quite a small diffuser, so only really good for smallish subjects and close ups, but it works really well.Hope my review was helpful

I stopped using the soft boxes that came with my Neewer lights because there has little to no control of the spread and it also diminished the light.With this I have much more control, they are easier to fit and I feel like the light looks nicer as well.That may just been down to the amount of control I have.It also looks way more professional too.As always with Neewer they have struck a very good balance of quality with asking price.

These are a great improvement over the older version where you had to take off the barn doors as with the barn doors for spacing with these you get a much better quality of light, a top tip is to still take out the little plastic diffusion piece from the lights as it will stop light, quality of light wise this gives a lovely soft light ideal for videos and interviews, highly recommended.
