TrendSnappy 12mm Diameter Forstner Bit for Accurate Hole Drilling, Carbon Steel, SNAP/FS/12

My main use of Forstner bits is in a drill press to clear material out of areas I'm going to route out using a template. In a toy car for example I drill out most of the window area to minimise the amount of routing required to create the final shape.I've tried a variety of bits to do this - flat bottomed, "conventional" Forstner - but they tend to be slow, get clogged up, get messy when you try to drill overlapping holes, and cause bad breakout so you have to drill from both sides.I decided to invest in this bit as I was beginning to think I really wasn't saving much time on balance doing this.But this bit has transformed the job, for a combination of reasons.Really sharp so doesn't tend to bog down.The circular cutting edge really scribes out the perimeter of the hole for a clean cut on entry ...... and it cuts round the edge of the hole on exit for little or no blowout.Clears itself well - or is easy to clear out if requiredWorks really well for overlapping cuts as the edge cutter keeps the bit going vertical.Too early to comment on longevity etc but has been a joy to work with so far.
