I can think of no better visual guide for exploring its riches and delicacies than ...
I've been following Abranowicz's career for years and am so often touched by his work. Though I have travelled to many corners of Greece over the years, I find that the collection of photos in this book captures a Greece that somehow I have missed. Should you be a newcomer to Greece with a desire to soak up its culture, I can think of no better visual guide for exploring its riches and delicacies than Abranowicz.

A warning to any would-be buyers!
Extremely disappointing. This excuse of a photographical book is littered with uninteresting, poorly taken, poorly organized images, better examples of which one can find easily online. Now, this would not be so disappointing if the images were not the sole purpose of the book--however, they are, so this is unpardonable. Furthermore, the quality of the paper is text-grade, not typically something one would use for a book of photographs. I bought this as a gift and was thoroughly annoyed when it arrived, but luckily I purchased a backup book, 'The Most Beautiful Villages of Greece,' which I would highly recommend over this atrocious piece of garbage. Not only is the undermentioned book far superior in terms of its images, it has a great deal of very interesting and uniquely presented information, and is CHEAPER than 'Hellas.'

Wonderful photographs! Very pleased
This collection of photographs shows greeces many sides; ancient Byzantine and modern, pagan and Christian, traditionally rustic and chicly urban. It is a refreshing blend of spectacular landscapes and human portraits... For many generations, travelers to Greece have commented on its unparalleled light, and this collection gives a sense of that brilliance to one who has not traveled to Greek lands. This is a slice of Greek life, and was the perfect gift for my father who teaches Greek and roman history.

The real deal
It is rare to find a book on Greece that balances the beauty of the ancient with modern day. It is a delight to take this book in hand and follow the photographer through this landscape he records in a beautiful and thoroughly authentic way. This is not a greatest-hits postcard record of Greece - it is the real thing.

Fantastic book!
This book is a gorgeous gift both to give and receive. The photos are dramatic, immersive, and unique and are curated to give a sophisticated and intimate view of a stunning country. The book is very high quality and in the Instagram age I love having something to hold and take me away to Greece!
